KNIFE FOR CUTTING SEED-POTATOES.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Aug. '7, 1906.
Application filed December 1, 1905. Serial No. 289.899.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, WILLIAM ORIN CASSADY, a citizen of the United States, residing at EX- line, in the county of Appanoose and State of Iowa,have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Knives for Cutting Seed-Potatoes; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it ap ertains to make and use the same, reference eing had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
This invention relates to new and useful improvements in knives for cutting seed-potatoes, &c., and comprises a longitudinal blade fastened to the recessed edge of a plate and in the provision of angled knives which are vention. Fig. 3 is a perspective view of an angled blade. Fig. 4 is a detail view of a parallel blade attachment, and Fig. 5 is a sectional view on line 5 5 of Fig. 2.
Reference now being had to the details of the drawings by letter, A designates a longi tudinal knife having apertures formed therein. B is a plate recessed on one edge thereof, forming a shoulder on which said blade A rests and held thereto by means of rivets C. D D designate angled cutting-blades secured by rivets D to said blade A. E E designate cutting-blades having two parallel cutting edges E E, and the shank portion intermediate said blades E is fastened to blade A by means of rivets or other suitable fastening means. may be fastened to said plateB.
What I claim is A knife for cutting seed-potatoes, &c., comprising a longitudinal blade, a plate secured thereto, and angled blades having parallel cutting edges, fastened to said plate and held against the face of said longitudinal blade, as set forth.
