DEVICE FOR DAMPENING THE WAR]? ON LOOP/LS, ETC.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented July 4, 1922.
Application filed September 3, 1921. Serial No. 498,462.
To all who-m it may concern:
Be it known that L HANS Kooi-i. a citizen. of the Swiss Confederation, residing at Dietikon. Canton Zurich, Switzerland, have invented new and useful Improvements in a Device for Dampening the Warp on Looms, Etc. of which the following is a description.
The present invention relates to a new and improved device for dampening the warp on looms, etc.
The object of the invention is to provide a device which shall be simple in construction and adapted to yield the highest desirable results in operation.
Other objects of the invention relate to improvements in the construction of minor parts and to details of construction all of which will. he more particularly set forth in the following specification.
In the accompanying drawing one form oi constructicui is shown by way of an example in a diagrammatic manner.
Fig '1 is a side view of the device.
Fig. 2 is a section on line A B of Fig. 1.
The device shown in the drawingcon'r prises a rotary air pump 1 which delivers compressed air by a pipe 2 to a pipe 4;. The pipe 4- is provided with a number of nozzles 5 arranged at regular distances apart. The pipe l is located above the warp a to be moistened and is connected by its rear and closed end. with a crank pin 8 oi a disk 9 driven by a motor. The pipe 4!: which is slidably mounted in a bearimr i0 and in a stuffing! box it cl pipe :2 rc ciprocatcd by said crank pin 8 and the air from pipe it enters the said pipe 4 by the open end 01 the latter which is within the pipe 2. Below the warp a and vertically below the nozzles 5 a nozzle 6 is arranged which communicates with the suction pipe 7 of the air pump 1. The air passing from the air pump 1 passes through a chamber 3 containing water. The air passing through said chamber takes up water and when discharged through the nozzles 5 the air moistens the warp threads (1. The air which still contains some water is drawn in by the pump 1 by means of the nozzle 6 and passes again through t-hechamher 3 and again takes up water.
The humid air will be confined to the zone between the nozzles 5, 6; the device works economically.
I wish to point out that various changes in form and arrangement of parts may be made without departing from the spirit of the invention. and within the scope of the appended. claim.
iVhat I wish to secure by U. S. Letters Patent is:
A device for inoisteningr warp threads on looms and the like comprising in combination an air pump. air discharge nozzles connected to s-aid air pump and arranged above the warp threads, air intake means below the warp threads and connected to said air pump. means connected with the delivery end of said air pump to humidity the air discharged from the nozzles, and means to reciprocate the nozzles which deliver the air to the warp threads.
In witness whereof I aiiix my signature.
HANS KOCH.
