. To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, HnINnIoHH nLii'rznL- FREI, a citizen of the Republic of Switzerland, residing at Zurich, Switzerland, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Treating Hanks of Yarn with a Liquid Contained in a Trough; and I do hereby declare the following to be a clear,
This invention relates to improvements in e an arrangementfortreatlng hanks or skelns of yarn with a l1qu1d contained in a trough and used, for example, ing yarn. 1
In the arrangement frame movable over the dyeing trough and carrying ing members, for instance chains, each of which asses over two lower and two upper disks, or instance chain-wheels, of which the two upper ones are nearer one another than the lower ones, so that each flexible conveying member has the form of a trapezoid. In this manner inclined slopes for lifting and lowering hank-carriers are provided in an arrangement which has only two flexible conveying members. The latter are provided with double-hooked members for taking up and delivering the hank-carriers.
According to the present invention tongues are provided in front of the inclined slopes by the action of which the hank-carriers are lifted off the slopes and off the doublehooked members and let down at some distance from the descending slopes. In this manner a safe placing of the hank-carriers is attained.
One mode of carrying the invention into effect is shown by way of example in the accompanying drawing in which:
Figure 1 shows the movable frame in a section alongline I-I of Fig. 2 and fitted with the tongues according to the invention Fig. 2 is a cross-section of Fig. 3, the left hand side of this figure showing a section on the line II-II and the right hand side a section along line II'-II of Fig. 3,
Fi 3 is, on a larger scale, asection on the line III--III of Fig. 2 and for dyeing or bleach Specification of Letters Patent.

and a track 6. A -frameor carriage 8 'provided with wheels 7 moves alongthe tracks 6. The toothed racks-5 are engaged by the teeth ofgear wheel's 9,"one of shown in'the 'lefthandside of Fig. 2, which wheels are rigidly conneoted with spur wheels 9, the latter being in engagement with pinions 16. The pinion 16 is rigidly connected with'the chain-wheel 16, driven from the-shaft 13 of an electrical motor 14 arranged in the frame 8 by means of a chainwheel 15 and achain 17LThe revolving shaft 13 causes thus the frame 8 to move along the tracks 6 over-thetrough 1. Chain Wheels 12 are cprovidedwrigidly connected with the chain wheels 16, and chain wheels 10 are turnably arranged on the axles supporting the wheels-1'7 and chains 11 connecting the, chain, wheels 12 and 10 on each side of the frame. The axes ofthefour chain wheels 10 are in the same horizontal plane. Also the axes of the four chain wheels 12 are in the same horizontal plane. The chain wheels 12 mounted on the same side of the frame 8 are, when seen from the side (Fig. 1), a little nearer one another than the chain-wheels 10, so that the endless flexible chain 11 forming a conveying member and passing over the chain wheels 10 and 12 on the same side of the frame 8 forms a trapezoid having two inclined sides ll and 11 The shaft 13 drives the chain wheel 12 by means of chains 17 passing over chain wheels 15 and 16. The chains 11 carry hooks 18 arranged one o posite another and provided on one side wit a recess 19 and on the opposite side with a recess 20. 21 are hankcarriers of a known construction, which lie normally between the teeth of the rails 41 and on which are suspended the hanks of which is 1 carrier 21 which is bers up the slope 11 of the arrow shown in Fig. 1 means of the motor 14 .or the hand drive 22, the endless chains 11 are'moved in the'direc-. tions of the arrowshown in Fig. 1. Each recess 20, of two opposite members 18"-pro vided with a double-hook takes up a hankand then along the upper horizontal part of the'chain '11. On
