To all whom it may conccwl Be it known that we, T'TENRY LAwnnNon liUEINIG and OI-mnLns U'rro Bnnimc, both citizens of the United States, residing at Terre Haute, in the county of Vigo and State of Indiana, have invented new and useful Improvements in Amusement De vices, of which the following is a speciomiupants of its cars, is of simple construction, which may be erected easily. and quickly, which may be operatci'l with facility and at low expense, and which will prove thoroughly durable in practice.
With these objects in view, together with others which will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in the novel construction, combination and arrangement of parts, all as will be described more fully hereinafter, illustrated in the drawing, and particularly pointed out in the claims.

Each of the axles ill-11 is provided with. a bevel gear 20 engaged with the gear trackway Fa, so that rotary movement applied to drive shaft 16 will cause the axles to rotate and prevent slippage. This particular bevel gear and traclrway construction also assists in maintaining uniform and steady movement of the axles.

These rises may be provided at any place in the circumferenceof the wheel and in any number, and it is obvious tnat as the wheels 21 rotate and the rises pass beneath the cars 24:, the latter will be caused to move up and down, thereby adding to the amusement of the occupant.

An amusement device of this character combines the attractive features of the carous'el, roller coaster and Ferris wheel and eliminates the shock producing and nerve racking features of such devices.
While the above is a description of: the preferred embodiment of the invention it is obvious that changes in the arrangement and details may be resorted to without departing from the spirit of the invention as defined sleeve, the axle ends being rotatably mounted in said tubular portions, and means 'lor holding said axles against longitudinal movement in said tubular portions.
2. In an amusement device, a pair ol? alined axles arranged in spaced relation, a. shaft disposed between the adjacent ends ol said axles and at right angles to the latter, a squared portion on the said shaft adjacent to the axle ends, a sleeve having a squared bore fitting upon said shaft end, hollow tubular portions projecting from the sides of said sleeve and inclosing the shaft ends, each of said shaft ends inclosed by said sleeves having an annular groove, and set screws threaded in said sleeves and extending into said grooves.
