IMPROVEMENT IN WASH-BASINS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 133,405, dated November 26, 1872.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, J OHN BROADFOOT, of
Glasgow, in the county of Lanark and Kingdom of Scotland, have invented certain Improvements in Lav atories, of which the followin g is a specification:
Nature and Objects of the Invention.
, My said invention relatesto lavatories, designed more particularly for passenger-ships, but also suitable for dwelling-houses and other situations; and its object is to combine convenience, usefulness, ornament, and economy in first cost.
Description of the Drawing.
Figure 1 is a vertical transverse section of a lavatory embodying my invention, as fitted in a ships state-room. Fig.2 is a front elevation of the same.
General Description.
of an ornamental bracket, and is fixed to the' bulkhead partition or lining E by screws F, some of which can be entered from the inside, while lugs may be formed on the hollow support, as at G.
The lavatory can thus be easily fixed in position or removed, as circumstances may require, without involving the tedious and expensive joiners work unavoidable with ordinary wooden lavatory-fittings.
Having thus particularly described my said invention and the manner in which the same is to be applied, what I claim is- I The hollow support or bracket A, having the' basin B set in the top, provided with a discharging-plug, O, the said support forming a receptacle for the discharge from the said basin, and provided with a d'raw-ofi plug, D, the whole constructed to be attached to the wall, in the manner described.
