UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
JOHN A. ORMAN, OF ASHLAND, MONTANA.
Application filed November 16, 1918.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, JOHN A. ORMAN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Ashland, Mont Rosebud county, and State of Montana, have invented and discovered certain new and useful Improvements in Broom-Hangers, of which the following is a specification.
My said invention relates to broom hangers or racks and has for its object to provide a convenient means for supporting a broom when not in use. The device is of the type constructed of a single piece of wire bent in the proper form, and consists in certain improvements in the details of form and arrangement, whereby such a device is adapted for convenient and easy reception and removal of the broom, and provided with appropriate eyes for the reception of means for securing the device to the support, all as Will be hereinafter fully described and illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which is shown a single figure represent- A perspective view of a broom hanger, secured to a wall, with the broom indicated therein by dash lines.
The device is composed of a single piece of wire formed with an eye 5 from which horizontal portions 6 and 7 extend each way for a distance and are then bent downward and inward toward each other until they nearly meet, thereby forming a pair of Y looped wings 8 and 9 which form a base and support the device firmly against the wall or other part to which it may be attached. The branches of the wire are then bent at right angles so as to extend straight down forming parallel portions 10 and 11 for an appropriate distance, each being then bent upward to form a hook-shaped part and doubled over at points 16 and 17 forming a pair of horizontally disposed semi-circular members 12 and 13 at their lower ends, twisted together and terminating in a pair of upstanding diverging prongs 14 and 15. The single ends extend upward in close relation and are each formed with a loop, 18 and 19 respectively, which, like the eye 5, are designed to receive a screw for se- Gopies ofthis patent may be obtained for five cents each, by addressing the Specification of Letters Patent.

curing the holder to a wall or other suitable support.
By means of this construction it is not necessary to insert the end of the broom handle in the circular portion formed by the members 12 and 13 because the prongs 14 and 15 are so flexible that they may e sprung apart for the ready insertion of the base or head of the broom or the end of the handle to which the broom head is attached.
It will be understood, of course, that any type of broom or like implement may be cared for by this device, and supported in a manner to protect the implement as well as to serve the convenience of the user.
Having thus fully described my said invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. A broom hanger composed of a single piece of wire having a centrally formed eye to receive an attaching device and bent to form laterally projecting wall engaging wings, the ends of the wire being bent outwardly to form a loop adapted to receive the shoulder of the broom, upwardly to form divergent prongs to engage the face of the broom head, then back upon itself through said prong and loop forming portion, the extreme ends of the wire being brought together and formed with eyes adapted to receive a further attaching member.
2. A. broom hanger composed of a single piece of wire formed with an eye to receive Commissioner of Patents,
