Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 129,770., dated July'23, 1872.
Specification describing a new 'and Improved Yarn-Reel, invented by LOUIS WEINS, of Rhine, fin the county of Sheboygan and State of Wisconsin.
The drawingrepresents a sectional side view of my improved yarn-reel.

This invention relates to a new arrangement of yarn-reel, which Vcan be placed in a horizontal or vertical position, according to the purposes 'for which it is intended. The invention consists in such a new manner of fitting `the shaft through a swivel-ring that it can the screw-clamp A., The shaft B carries the adjustable jointed reel O and a sliding sleeve, e, and screw j, for securing it in any desired position to which it may be moved, expanding the reel more or less diametrically. When the shaft is to project at right angles from the face of the clamp A, its end is withdrawn from the socket in the arm, and it is turned with the ring b, and 'its lowerl end pushed down into a socket, g, provided for its reception in the screw-clamp. This position is indicated by dotted lines in the drawing. When, however, the shaft is to beheld parallel with the face of the clamp A, it is fxrst withdrawn from the socket g, next swung into the desired position, where it is supported vbyia fork, h, projecting from the clamp, and -nally pushed into the socket in the arm i projecting from A, as shown by full lines in the drawing. The position of the reel can thus be changed without difficulty for winding yarn upon it from a spool, or for unwinding it therefrom onto a ball. Y
