iMPROVEMENT IN SUSPENDER-ENDS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 127,615, dated June 4, 1872.

To all whom may it concern:
Be it known that I, GRANVILLE H. LEON- ARD,'of East Hampton, in the county of Hampshire and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Suspender-Ends and I do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description ofthe same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing and to the letters of reference marked thereon.
This invention is an improved suspender end or strap, the novelty of which consists in providing the ordinary end or strap with cord or braid, which is stitched through said end about its edges or the button-hole for the purpose of giving itincrea'sed strength and making it more ornamental, which can be furnished at small cost as an article of merchandise.
In the drawing several ends are represented, in which the cord or braid is arranged in different ways.
To enable others skilled in the art to make and use my invention, I will now proceed to describe fully its construction and operation.
A represents a suspender-end constructed in any proper manner, upoIrv-hi'ch the braid or cord a is suitably stitched, the stitching passing through said end, and being preferably employed upon the portions subjected to the greatest strain. By means of the braid the end is made stronger, and at the saine time more beautiful. l
An advantage of this mode of strengthening the end results from the fact that it permits the use ot' cheaper leather than can otherwise be used, so that a suspender-end equally strong as those in the market can be furnished at a cheaper rate.
Having thus fully described ,my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-` A suspender-end provided with cord or braid secured by stitching, as described, as a new article of manufacture.
