Be it known that I, ALBERT F. STONE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Montclair, in the county of Essex and State of-New Jersey, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Carton-Cases for Collapsible Tubes, of which the follow- This invention relates to collapsible cartons or casings forming an outer covering for collapsible tubes containing pastes, creams and other semi-liquid or liquid contents adapted. to be expelled by squeezing the tube. l

. The object of my invention is to provide a casing or carton, whichmay bemade of cardboard or other suitable *material, and

which incloses the collapsible tube, permitting the continued use of the tube contents while preserving the shape and contour of the carton or cover.

The cover is preferably constructed of a single blank of sheet material, cut into the shape substantially as shown, and adapted to be folded on the lines indicated.

The end or base 3, however, is uncreased so that it maintains its shape due to the rigidity of the card-board. When the contents of the tube have been nearly all expelled, so that it is necessary to press the carton near the larger end, the end flaps 3, 3", also bulge or bow outwardly along the crease lines with the sides.

The advantages to be derived from the use of my invention will be appreciated .from the above description. The carton maintains its original shape, due to the stifiness or rigidity of the card-board or fiber-board, and yet permits the contents of the tube to be expelled in the usual manner by progressively pressing from the closed end toward -the discharge end or neck on account of the crease lines in the edge members. 7. The neat appearance of the package is, therefore, preserved during the entire period of use and the unsightly appearance of the wrinkled and distorted partly collapsed tube is concealed. The faces of the carton may receive printed matter such as advertisements and labels describing the contents and directions for its use, making it unnecessary to place the same upon the tube and these matters are preserved intact throughout the use of the contents, which is an important advantage. may also be varnished or otherwise made durable and water-proof.

\Vhile I have described in detail the particular construction illustrated in the accompanying drawings for the purpose of disclosing an embodiment of my invention, I am aware that various changes may be made therein within the scope of the appended claims and without departing from the spirit of my invention.

I claim 1. A carton casing or cover for collapsible tubes, comprising a fiber-board blank folded into a wedge-shaped box and having its edge members provided with longitudinal crease lines upon which said members may fold when pressure is exerted u on the faces of the wedge, while its end or ase member maintains its shape due to its stifi'ness or rigidity.

3. A carton casing or cover for collapsible tubes, comprising a fiber board blank foldable into a wedge-shaped box, said blank having rectangular portions adapted to form the opposite face members of the wedge, an intermediate portion having an aperture to receive the neck of a collapsible tube and connected by folding joints with said rectangular portions, and triangular portions having outer marginal flaps and united at their inner longitudinal edges by folding joints with the opposite edges of one of said rectangular portions, said intermediate portion being sufliciently rigid to prevent distortion when the triangular portions are collapsed by pressure on the face members.

A carton casing or cover for collapsible tubes, comprising a blank foldable into a wedge-shaped box, said blank having rectangular portions adapted to form the 0pposite face members of the wedge, an intermediate rectangular portion having an aperture to receive the neck of a collapsible tube and connected by folding joints upon opposite sides with said rectangular portions and having flaps united to the other opposite sides, and triangular portions having outer marginal flaps and united at their inner longitudinal edges by folding joints with the opposite edges of one of said rectangular portions, said triangular portions crease lines causing the triangular portions to bulge outwardly when pressure is applied to the outer margins thereof.
