This invention relates to improvements in a wash board holder and .has'for one offits objects the'prov'ision of a device of this character, which will secure'the wash board to a tub and which will permit the wash board to be moved within the wash tub when desired and which will return the same to its normal movcd.-

Another object of this inventionJis the provision of a coiled spring having each end connected to the washboard upon each side thereof and having means thereon for con necting the spring to the wash tub so that the wash board will be held to the tub: and

prevented from moving therein accidentally.

Another object of this invention is the provision of a hook, slidably mounted upon the coiled spring and adapted to engage the tub for establishing a connection between the spring and tub to properly position or hold the wash board therein.

A still further object of this invention is the provision of a wash board holder of the above stated character, which shall be simple, durable and efiicient, and which may be manufactured and sold at a comparatively low cost. f

With these and other objects in view as will become more apparent as the description proceeds, the inventionconsists of certain novel features of construction, combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described and clalmed.

A cuff or collar 11 surrounds the coiled spring and the free end of the hook 8 to prevent the eye-bolt 1.0 from accidentally becoming detached therefrom, and also providing means whereby the eye-bolt 10 may be detached from the hook 8 when desired by sliding the cull or'collar 11 from engagement with the treev end of the hook 8.

An attaching member 12 is slidably mounted upon the coiled spring 6 and has pivot-ally secured thereto, a hook 13. The hook 13 is adapted to be, hooked under the supporting flange 14 of a wash tub 15, whereby the spring is connected to the wash tub and which will hold the wash board 1 within the wash tub.

It will also be noted that a device of this character being partially constructed from a coiled spring will obviate the necessity of a person bearing 7 Having thus described my'invention, what- I claim is:

l. A wash board holder comprising an elastic member, means for connecting the ends of the member to the sides of a wash board, and means for connecting the member to the wash tub to hold the wash board 7 within the wash tub and which will permit movement of the wash board in relation to the wash tub.

2. A wash board holder comprising a coiled spring, means for securing the ends oi" the coiled spring to a wash board, and means for detachably connecting the spring to a wash tub for holding the wash board within said tub and which will permit the wash board to be moved with relation to the wash tub,

3. A wash board holder comprising a coiled spring, an eye-bolt pivotally connected to one end of the coiled spring and secured to one side of a wash board, an eyebolt removably secured to the other end of the coiled spring and secured to the opposite side of the wash board, and means carried by the coiled spring for engagement with the wash tub to cause the coiled spring to hold the wash board in the wash tub and permit it to move with relation to the wash tub.
