Description

I M. WEBER, DETACHABLE RESIUENT SUPPORT FOR CAPS APPLICATION FILED SEPTJLE. I915.
Patanted Dec. 26, 1916.
'WMTED FiTATEbi Mon-sis wanna, or new roan, n. Y.
- DETACHABLE RESILIENT SUPPORT FOR Cit PS,
Application filed September 25, 1915.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, Monms WEBER, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of the city of New York, county of Kings, and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Detachable Resilient Supports for Caps, of which the following is a specification.
The object of my invention is to pi vide a suitable resilient support which will support the crown of an ordinary cloth cap, and so support the crown that its proper shape will always be maintained under all conditions of service. This, and other objects, are ac complished by my invention, one embodiment of which is hereinafter set forth.
For a more particular description of my invention, reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part hereof, in which- Figure 1 is an inverted plan view of a cap provided with my improvement. Fig. 2 is a sectional view, taken on the line 2--2 of Fig. 1, looking in the direction of the arrows.
Throughout the various views of the drawings, similar reference characters designate similar parts.
My improved detachable resilient support 1 may be applied to any suitable cap 2 by means of snap fasteners 3 similar to those used on gloves, having one member, say the male member, secured to the lower part of the crown of the cap, and the other part, say the female member, secured to the ends of the support 1. The support 1 is preferably Specification of Letters Eatent.

nearly pointed adjacent to the fasteners 3.
The strips 4 and 5 are made sufiiciently long to properly support the crown of a cap 1. When in use they lie close to the crown as indicated in Fig. 2, and they. may be detached readily at any time and entirely removed from the cap, as is obvious.
While I have shown and described one embodiment of my invention, it is obvious that it is not restricted thereto but is broad enough to cover all structures that come within the scope of the annexed claims.
-Having th='1s described my invention, what I claim is,
l. A detachable resilient stiffener and crown support for caps having cross strips made of hair cloth and means at the ends of the strips for securing the same to a cap.
2. A. detachable resilient stiiiener and crown support for caps composed of cross strips and fasteners with male and female members adapted to secure the ends of said strips to a cap.
, MORRIS WEBER.
