Be it known that Luo C. lliunncurcoi, a citizen of the United States, residing at -Elk Park, in the county of Jefferson and State of Montana, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in. Slioe-Fanteners, of which the following is a Specification.

This invention relates to shoe' fasteners, and one of the principal objects nl' the invention is to provide a shoe fastener of simple construction which may" hc fornied entirely of leather or other lexihlc u'iaterial and thus eliminating the use of i'netai as any part of the fastening device.

Another' object of the invention is to prou vide a shoe fastener which shall he simple and quick to fasten and quick` to unfasten and which will present a goed appearance without the use of metal eyelets, hooks or other fasteners.

Still another object of the invention is to'v provide a simple shoe fastening which can be used 1n heu of buttons at the outer sides ofthe upper portion of the shoe, or which can be used at the instep in lieu ot laces.

These and other objects may be attained. by means of the construction illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which,

Frein the foregoing it will be obvious that a shoe fasteningmade in accordance with this invention may he used at the instep in lieu oil innings, at the side in lieu of imttons or can even he need at the hach line ot' the quarter if desired.

Various elianges in the details of construction may he resorted to without departing from the spirit and scope of' the invention rest on the quarter, means for securing the feet to the quarters and being so arranged that the side portions and upper portions muy extend through theopenngs of the upper, and zi strop approximately the width of the upper portions of the guides secured :it one end between the meeting edges of the vamp and quarter und adapted to be threadedthrough the guides und upper.
