Z '0 (4Z4 whom it may concern Be it known that 1, PETER J. PINTO a a citizen of the United Eltates and a resident of the city of New York, borough of Manhattan, in the county and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved IceCreeper, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.

This invention relates to an improved ice creeper or non-slippingdevice for use upon the foot, and has for an object the provision of an improved structure which may be quickly and easily applied and removed at any time.

Another object in view is to provide an anti-slipping device for the human foot which may be quickly titted over a shoe or over-shoe at any place, and when arranged in position present rough ned portions to the ice or other surface on which it is used.

Referring to the accompanying drawings by numerals 1 indicates a shoe of any desired kind and :2 and 3 indicate chains adapted to be stretched across the bottom of the foot for presenting roughened or irregular shaped members. The chains 2 and 3 are designed to catch into the ice, snow and the like and thereby prevent slipping or the shoe 1. The ends of the chains 2 and 3 are connected by bowed bars at and 5 which overlap the sides of the shoe. and to which is connected a strap 6. Preferably the strap 6 is connected with one of the bars as for instance bar 5 by suitable fastening means, as for instance rivet 7 so that the buckle 8 will be at a convenient point for receiving the free end of the strap 6. which free end is passed beneath the other bar, namely. bar 4, and then caused to interlock with buckle S as shown in Fig. 3. T he buckle 8 may be of any desired kind and the strap 6 may be of any desired length, but preferably of ample length for fitting over the foot as shown in Fig. 3.

An ice creeper of the character described comprising pair of chains. a pair of bars connected with the ends of said chains for spacing the chains, each of said bars being bowed upwardl strap slidingly connected with one of saio bars and a fastening member arranged on said strap for receiving and securing the free end of the strap when the device is in use.

2. In an ice creeper of the character described. a pair of chains, one of said chains being longer than the other, pair of up wardly bowed connecting bars secured to the ends of said chains, said connecting bars being adapted to be positioned opposite and substantially straddling the widest part of the foot so that part of the shoe will project between the ends of the bars and prevent a movement thereof longitudinally of the foot. and a slidingly mounted flexible securing member arranged on the upper part of one of said bars and engaging the upper part of the other of said bars for connecting said bars together, said flexible securing member being designed to pass across the top of the foot when the device is in use.

An ice creeper of the character described, comprising a pair of chains. a pair of bars connected to the ends of said chains for spacing the cha ns, each of said bars being bowed upwardly, a bracing bar or rod connected with one of each of said first mentioned bars and extending parallel to oneoi said chains, a strap slidingly mounted on the upper part of one of said first mentioned bars, and a fastening member arranged on said strap for receiving and securing the free end of the strap When the device is in use. i
