-resident of 7508 Garrison avenue, Chicago,
Cook county, Illinois, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement 1n TablelVagons, of which the following is a specifi-` cation.
My invention relates to table-wagons of that kind in which a body forming the table is mounted on wheels and adapted to be moved about in the house and employed for table-top which can be adj usted to adapt the j structure-for use in various ways, and whereby, for example the table-wagon may be used as a desk, as a` serving table, or as an ordinary table, as will hereinafter more fully appear.
It is also an object to provide certain details and features of construction and novel combinations tending to increase the general eiiiciency and desirability of a table-wagon of this particular character.
To the foregoing and other useful ends my invention consists in matters-hereinafter set forth and claimed.
In the accompanying drawipgs-Figure is a perspective of a table-Wagon embodying the principles of my invention. Fig. 2is an enlarged front elevation of the same. Figs. 3 and 4 are enlarged detail sectional views of the front and rear 'Wheel mountings. Fig. 5 is a section' on line 5-'-5 in Fig. 2, showing the front portion of the table top extended to form a desk, in dotted lines, and showing the bread-board and the towel-sticks extended outward in dotted lines. Fig. 6 is an .end elevation of the said table-wagon showing the drawer, the towelsticks and the breadboard all extended in full lines. Fig. 7 is a perspective of a section of oneend wall of a table wagon, showing the adjacent portionsV of the towel-sticks, and illustrating the manner in which they are mounted.
As thus illustrated, my invention comprises a base orlower shelf A provided at each end witlua vertical end wall B and C,
the latter being'providedat their lower ends with base boards I) and c to provide sufficient thickness for the wheel mountings. The front wheels D are provided with forks d having stems E that yare fixed in the base board b and the real-'wheels F have curved forks f provided with stems G that are swiveled or mounted to turn in -the base board c, whereby the front wheels alway:; remain parallel with the body of the structure, while the rear wheels are adapted to caster or 'turn freely to permit the tablewagon to be steered or inovedeasily in va'- rious directions.
A shelf H is positioned a distance across the base or shelfl A, being supported at its ends'by cleats t, which latter are in turn supported by cleats I on v the end walls of the table body. The bread-board J has its ends provided with tongues j to engage grooves formed along the edges of the cleats It, whereby the Said bread-board can be removed and placed on top of the table when itr is desired to use the same.
A shelf K is arranged a distance above the shelf H, being'suitably supported on the end walls B and C,'and forming a support for the drawer L which is provided with a handle Z at the front or outer side thereof.. The towel-sticks M are arranged in pairs and pivotally supported by brackets m secured to the end walls of the table body, whereby these towel-sticks are adapted to be folded to a substantially concealed position immediately below' the shelf K, as shown 'in the drawings. The table-top comprises a fixed middle section N'which is the same in width as the end walls B and-C, and which rests on the upper end of the latter, being suitably secured thereto. A front leaf 0 is hinged to.
the front edge' of the top section N at o, and is provided with parallel end strips P on the under side thereof, which strips are arranged `in position to engage the edges of the end walls B and C when said leaf is swung into the plane of the table-top, whereby the area of the latter is extended at the front thereof. -The rear leaf at g at the rear edge of the t, le-top, and this leaf is provided with end. strips R which engage the rear edges of the end walls B and C, when the leaf is swung into the horizontal plane of the table-top; and in addition the rear leaf has a guard or back strip 1- which connects together the vend' strips R, and which forms the back rail of is pivoted the table-top when the two leaves are in folded position, and more especially vwhen the front leaf `only is unfolded and the structure is in use as a desk. Vhen both leaves are extended, the structure is then adapted for use as an ordinary` table. The strips P form an unobstructed way for the drawer I, so that the latter may be moved out-andin when the table top is extended. (See Fig. 5.) The two leaves when folded provide a narrow table-top which can also be `usedfor -various purposes, either in the kitchen or in the dining room. lVhen folded the portions P, R and r form'a raised margin for the tabletop to prevent dishes or other articles from sliding off.-
It will also be seen vthat the structure as a whole is adapted for use as a book case, it
being possible to stand one row of books on the shelf A, another on the shelf H, and a` third row'on the top formed by the two folded leaves.
A table-wagon, when constructed. as shown and described, is not only` useful for various purposes in the kitchen, in the dining room, and the other parts of the house, but can also be used inthe laundry, as will be readily understood.
T he towel rack S is supported by brackets s on the wall C, immediately below the overhanging end of the top, thus serving as a handle to move the table-wagon about the house.
What I claim as my invention is l. A table-wagon comprising a body having upright end walls, a bottom connecting said walls, al pair of wheels for the lower end of each wall, and a top connecting the upper ends of said walls andprovided with an upwardly folding extension leaf.

A table-wagon comprising a body having upright end Walls, a `bottom connecting said walls, a pair (of wheels for the lower end of each wall, and a top connecting the upper ends of said walls, said top havinga pair of extension leaves hinged. to the oppo-M site edges thereof, said leaves being arranged to swing over -and -rest with their outer edges together on said top.

A table-wagon comprising a body having upright end walls, abottom connecting 4 said Walls. a pair of wheels for the lower end of each Wall, and a top connecting the upper ends of said walls, said top having a pair of extension leaves hinged to the opposite edges thereof, said leaves being arrangedto swing over and rest with their outer edges together on said top, said leaves having end strips to engage said walls and thereby hold the leaves in horizontal position, and one only of said leaves having an outer edge strip on the bottom thereof to form a rear guard for the top when the leaves are folded, said end strips forming right angle extensions of said guard when the leaves are folded.
5. A table-wagon comprising a body havingupright end walls, a bottom connecting.
said walls, a pair of wheels for the lower end of each wall, and a top connecting the Aupper ends of said walls, said top overhanging said walls, brackets on one wall.immediately below the overhanging end of said top, and a handle connecting said brackets, serving also as a towel rack.
6. A table-wagon comprising a body having upright end walls, a bottoln connecting said walls,a pair of wheels for the lower end of each wall, and a top connecting the upper ends of said walls, said top having an extension arranged tonfold thereon to form a desk.

A table-wagon comprising a body having upright end walls, a bottom connecting said walls, a pair of wheels for the lower end of each wall, and a top connecting the .ing upright end walls, a bottom connecting said walls, a pair of wheels for the lower end of each wall, and a top'connecting the upper yends of said walls, a drawer below said top, and extension leaves for said t0p,'
foldable thereon, one of said leaves being. provided with a strip to form a rear guard for the-top-when folded,.and the other of said leaves being constructed to form an unobstructed way for said drawer when in s unfolded position.
9. A table-wagon comprising a body having upright end walls, abottom connecting said walls, a pair of Wheels for the lower end-of each wall, and a top connecting the upper ends of said walls, and towel sticks pivoted on-said body, arranged to swing under said top.

A table- Wagon comprising a body having a fixed top-section, a movable extension top section disposed over said fixed top-section, arranged to shift outside one edge of said xed top section, means to support said movable top-section in the plane of said fixed top-section, and means A to support said fixed top section, said movablesection providing a horizontal surface for dishes or other articles when in non-extended position'.

A folding table-Wagon comprising a, body having a fixed top-section, a movable extension top-section disposed over said fixed topsection, arranged to shift outside one edge of said fixed top-section, means to support said movable top section in the plane of said fixed top-section, and means to support said fixed -top section, saidy movable section being provided Withedge portions which form a raised margin to prevent displacement of articles/from the table when in folded condition.

A folding table-Wagon-comprising a body having a fixed top-section,4 a movable top-section, arranged to shift outside ,y one edge of said fixed top-sectiommeans to support saidlmovable top-section in the'plane of said fixed top-section, and means to supvextension top-section dispoed over said fixed port. said fixed top-section, said movabletop-section occupying a portion of the area ofthe xed topsection, and a similar mov-V able -top-section for the other edge of said fixed top-section,v the twomovable sectionsv being tight together whenin non-extended position, said movable sections being pro' vided with edge portions vWhich form a raised margin to prevent displacement of articles from the table when. in folded condi#- tion.
