Implication filed Jan, 1914. seriarno. 842,005. 2-
To all whom it may concein; Be itknown that I, PAUL a citizen of the United 'Statearesidingat Chicago, in the county of Cook and State'of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Combined Junction- Boxes and Reflector-Casings, of which "the following is a specification.
My invention relatesito lightin for show-cases, bank-partitionspnj "similar I gaunt; of a metal tube or conduit,'through M. I-Io'ronxm,
Patented Apr. e, 1915. 1
which the wires of an electric circuit pass, that have their ends screw threaded and tapped into 'screw threaded openings in the opposite ends of a metallic junction born T s unctionhox is preferably rectan ular 'inshape and comprises 'a'hol'low or 'shel -like body portion' fi that is provided fwitha censtructures where it is found -"'ecoflomical to 7 employ such fixtures in'integralunitsfnsfor example, in a show-case composedofaiplate and vertical walls and the prefera 'ly disposed along the 'er 'po'r'; tions-of said walls. In such inst ations it has been found expedient'to em loy a son duit in which the electric circuitwires'are disposed and which has aplurality'of unction boxesinterposed 'throughout' itsr chit/h said boxes being soconstructed that .t e.
' iPP shrew-threaded P01131011 with a shoulder or are adapted to support the lamp sockets reflector casin The particulsi' object of my invention is to produce a structure as above described in a manner so that after the elements have been assembledin the proper length to fit the show case or -the like, said awembled structure will be an integral unit-and. can.
readily be mounted in proper position by any unskilled person without liability of error or miscalculation.
Another object is to produce an article of this classthat is economical to manufacture,
can be sold at a reasonable price, and is neat in appearance and efiective in operation.
These and numerous otherobjects l accom lishby the means and in the manner hereinafter fully described and as more particularly pointed out in'the claims, reference being had to the accompanymg drawlngs forming wherein:
Figure 1 is a central vertical section of a lamp socket reflector casin and reflector, illustrating the, manner 0 mounting the same upon the, junction box of an electric conduit; Fig is a longitudinal side eleva tion or the junction box having the reflector and other parts removed; Fig. 3 is a transverse vertical section taken on line 3-3 Fig. 2.
Referring to the drawings,.5, 5, represent the longitudinally disposed axially alining a part of this specification,-
tral longitudinal cavity adjacent its arched or curved upper portionfas shown. Said carity comnumicates with the openings in thezendwallsof the box and at about its short 11 the long tudinal sides 0' the body ortion.

The outer end.
In the. drawing I have illustrated one type for show-case lighting wherein the refiector casing is provided with a short annular portion 17 adjacent its upper end having its edge inturned toforln a lip 18 as shown, which portions 17 and 18 are adapted to enter cap 12 around the socketand to be secured to cap by screws or other--.
wise. The casing preferably conforms in shape with the reflector which latter is re taine'd within the same by means of a suitable spring or wire 19 that is snapped into the casing between the lower edge of the re fiector and the inturned, flanged or beaded lower edge 20 thereof.
Having thus described my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is:-
1. In a device of the kind specified, a tube provided with a suitable outlet mediate its ends, 'a cap, means for supporting said cap' adjacent said outlet, a lamp socket within said cap, and devices for reflecting the light waves of said lamp provided with a portion adapted to be secured to said cap and to retain said lamp socket within said ca i 2. In a device of the kind 5 ecifie ,a tube provided with a suitable out et' mediate its ends, a cap, means for supporting said 'cap adjacent said outlet, a lamp socket within said cap, and devices for reflecting the light waves of said lamp provided with a portion adapted to fit within the open end of said i said lamp socket within said cap.
diate its ends, a cap indirectly carried by and to be secured thereto and to retain said boil, a lamp socket within said cap, and reflecting devices provided with a ortion adapted to be secured to said cap an retain said socket within the latter.
4. In a device of the kind specified, a tube, a junction outlet box interposed therein mediate its ends, a lateral member tapped into one of the walls of said box, a cap mounted on the outer end of said member and indirectly carried by said box, a lamp socket within said cap, and refiectin devices provided with a portion adapte to fit within the open end ofsaid cap and be secured theretoA-and retain said socket within the latter. 5, In 'a device of the kind specified, a
conduit, a junction box interposed therein,
one of the walls thereof provided with a lateral stub, a nipple tapped into said stub, a cap carried by the outer end of said nipple having an open lower end containing a lamp socket, and a reflector casing having a portion adapted to be secured to said cap and to retain said lam socket within said cap.
In testimony w ereof I aflix my signature in the presence of two witnesses. PAUL M. HOTCHKIN. Witnesses: t Esrnnna Wonrr, E. J. DONNELLEY.
