To all whom t may concern:

Be it known that we, IRvINo H. Lyons and RAOUL J. GRUENBERG, citizens of the United States, residing :it Sanv Francisco, in the county of San Francisco and State of California, have invented a new and useful Garment Receptacle and Hanger, of which the following is a specification in such full and clear terms as will enable those skilled in the art to construct and use the,same.

This invention relates to a garment receptacle and hanger therefor, the object of which is to supply stores with a suitable receptacle for sending home clothing without unduly Wrinklin the same.

It will be un erstood by those skilled in the art that the ordinary -Xsuit case folding box is of such sizel that it is necessary to fold-coats, skirts, shirt waists, etc., several times to get them into the box. This folding necessarily ywrinkles the clothing and it is disadvantageous in several Ways. With this invention the box is madevof such size as -to enable all ordinary sized coats to be placed in the box and suspended upon a hanger secured theretowith but a single fold in the garment, this fold being at such a place as-to be the least injurious to the appearance thereof.

Another object of the invention is to provide a hanger for the box which will be lcapable of being folded flat in substantially the same way as the remaining box. v

Another object of the invention is to provide the garment holder with' an opening therethrough for the support of a pair of trousers or some other garment as may be desired.

Another object of the invention is to provide a hanger of such size as to prevent the garments placed 'thereon from being crum led up in the box if ythe box is turned up si e down or onits side.

In this form of the'inventionthe 3'0 box has a slot vat 21 and the hanger 17 and handle 20 are made of one piece, a flap 22 beingpunched out of the part 19 which is secured to the edge of the box. 5. A garmentreceptacle, comprising a box, a garment hanger secured to an intermediate part of one side-member of the box and supported therefrom, and having a portion projecting through a slot in said sidemen-lber and provided with an opening toform a handle.V p

A combined garment hanger and boxinclosure therefor, which consists of a sheet of cardboard cut to provide a handle portion and garimnt-supporting shoulder portions, anda box having a slit in one side to pass the handle, and means on the hanger to support the box without allowing the -box to rest on the garment which may be supported on the hanger.

7 In a package for garments, the. combination with a box and a cover therefor, formed with a slot in one of its ends, of a garment hanger formed of sheet material, a handle on saidv hanger adapted to extend through the slot in the -box, and shoulders on said handle to support the box thereon.

8. In a package for garments, the combination of a garment hanger formed of sheet material with rounded upper corners and a longitudinal slot therein, an upwardly extending portion on said sheet perforated to forni av handheld, lateral projections on said upwardly extending portlon forming shoulders, anda box like receptacle for the hanger formed with a slot to receive the handle portion thereon and against the underside of the end walls of which the shoulders abut to support the receptacle.

9. ln a package for garments, the combination of a garment hanger formed of sheet material with rounded upper corners anda longitudinal slot therein, an upwardly extending port-ion on said sheet perforated to form a handheld, lateral rejections on said ipwardly extending portion forming shoulders, a box like receptacle for the hanger formed with a slot to receive the handle portion thereon and against the underside of the end walls of which the shoulders abut to support the receptacle, and means for connecting the Yhandle portion to the box to prevent its' removal therefrom.
