Be it known that I, RICHARD LEBENHART, subject of the Austin-Hungarian Emperor,
residing at \Vrschowitz, near Prague, in
the Empire of Austria-Hungary, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Cards for Holding Articles Having an Angular Profile, of which the following is a specification.
This invention is intended for enabling articles having an angular profile such for instance as clips, press-button, studs, and the like to be releasably attached to cards without stitching.
Referring to the accompanying drawings:-Figures 13 illustrate ordinary buttons or studs formed of a head and a headed pin or shank fixed on a card; and Figs. i6, the shank portion alone, as examples of carrying out the invention; Figs. 1, 2 and 4, 5 are longitudinal sections; and Figs. 3 and 6, plan views of the card.
According to this invention the card consists of two flaps a between which a part of the article is retained, while its other part projects through suitable apertures f in the flaps.
If buttons, studs, and the like consisting of a head (i and a shank e are to be secured to the card, the heads 0 also serve for holding the flaps (2 together. The headed shanks are so placed on the one flap a that the head (Z projects through an aperture and the shank or pin 6 rests against the solid part of the card (Figs. 1 and 4:). hen the second fiap is laid over the first (Figs. 2 and 5) the head (1 also passes through the corresponding aperture 7 of this second flap and then the two flaps are held together by the heads 0 passed through suitable apertures Z. If the shank portions (1, 6, alone are to he secured to the card, the edges of the flaps a are connected by means of clips g passed over them or by being gummed together.
I declare that what I claim is 1. A card for holding articles having a shank and a head firmly connected with the shank and projecting on two sides thereof. said card comprising a pair of flaps hinged so as to fold fiat together and each having perforations adapted to register with the perforations in the other flap when the flaps are folded together, said perforations being of the shape of the transverse contour of the heads attached to the shanks of the articles, so that each of these heads can project partly through one flap and partly through the other while the shanks lie between the flaps in a plane parallel therewith.
2. A card for holding articles having a shank and ahead firmly connected with the shank and projecting on two sides thereof, said card comprising a pair of flaps hinged so as to fold fiat together and each having perforations adapted to register with the perforations in the other flap when the fiaps are folded together, said perforations being of the shape of the transverse contour of the heads attached to the shanks of the -.1rticles, so that each of these heads can project partly through one flap and partly through the other while the shanks lie between the flaps in a plane parallel therewith, and means for securing the two flaps together in the folded condition, thereby locking the articles in place.

A card for holding articles of angular profile such as buttons. studs and the like having shank and head portions, comprising two flaps between which the shank of the articles is held, apertures in the flaps through which the headof the shank portion projects. and apertures in the lower portion of the flaps to enable the lower edges of the flaps to be secured together by passing therethrough the head portion of the articles.

A card for holding articles such as buttons. studs and the like, having a shank portion and two head portions, one of these head portions being firmly connected with the shank and projecting on two sides thereof, and the other head portion being separate from the shank, said card comprising a pair of flaps hinged so as to fold fiat together and each having perforations adapted to register with the perforations in the other flap when the flaps are folded together, said perforations being of the shape of the transverse contour of the heads attached to the shanks of the articles. so that each of these heads can project partly through one flap and partly through the other while the shanks lie between the flaps in a plane paral- 1912, in the presence of two subscribing witlel Igllereliivith mg aperturgs in H1116 flaps Itlo nesses. ena e t ese to e secure toget er in t e folded condition by passing therethrough RICHARD LEBENHART' 5 the loose head portions of the articles.
