Description

S. BUEGELE-ISEN. INSTRUMENT STAND.
APPLICATION FILED MAY 23, 1912.
1,060,581, PatentedMayfi, 1913.
gf 7 JM woe whom UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
SAMUEL BUEGELEISEN, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
INSTRUMENT-STAND.
Application filed May 23, 1912.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, SAMUEL BUEGELEISEN, a citizen of the United States, residing in the borough of Manhattan, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Instrument-Stands, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawing.
My invention relates to improvements in stands and has particular reference to stands adapted for supporting and displaying musical instruments such as a cello.
In the accompanying drawing I have illustrated in perspective a wire stand illustrating an application of my invention.
In said drawing 1 and 2 are the main sides of the stand preferably formed out of wire as shown and having loops adapted to be engaged by the U-shaped support 3 adapted to hook into the same.
4 is a suitable block or casing into which the legs 1 and 2 are secured in any suitable manner, and 5 is a hanger adapted to engage the sides 1 and 2 so that the stand may be hung up from a nail or hook thus allowing the back support 3 to hang loose. 6 and 7 are wires also pivotally retained within the block 4 and twisted together as shown forming a resilient support for the neck of the instrument at 8 as shown, the ends of which are preferably covered with pieces of rubber tubing such as 9.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented May 6, 1913. Serial No. 699,159.
10 is a base support in which the bottom of the instrument rests and connects the lower extremities of the legs 1 and 2 as shown, the same being also preferably covered by suitable rubber tubing such as 11.
Of course it will be understood that modifications may be made without departing from the spirit of the invention as set forth in the claim.
I claim: v
A support of the character described comprising an inverted U-shaped main frame having loops formed in opposite legs thereof and a U-shaped support therefor having loops formed in the ends ofthe legs thereof adapted to engage said first mentioned loops, retaining means at the upper and lower p0rtions of said main framework, said retaining means at said upper portion of said main framework comprising a pair of resilient jaws adaptedto engage the neck of a musical instrument, and said retaining means at the lower portion thereof comprising a bridge extending across the legs of said main framework having a central loop adapted to engage the base of the instrument.
In testimony whereof I afiix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
SAMUEL BUEGELEISEN. Witnesses:
LOUISE ENDERLE, THOMAS A. HILL.
