ARTICLE 03 APPAREL;
I application flled February 1 Specification of Letters Iatent.
o, 1912. Serial no. 676,920. Q
To all whom it may concern:
- Be it known that we, RUDOLPH J. CASPER, a. citizen of the United States, and- WILLIAM W. CLARK, a subject of vGreat Britain, re-
Mexico, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Articles of Apparel; and we do hereb declare the followin to be a full, clear, an exact description of t e invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and. use the same. I
This inventlon relates to an improvement in articles of apparel, and has for its printie, watch-fob or other articles of such construction as to-permit of displaylng one or more pictures 0 any type, although the 1n-- vention is specifica y 1 various views of. cities, buldings and other like places which the wearer has visited.
Another object of the invention is to proset forth in which an improved means is provided for detachably securing said .pic-' A further object of the invention is to provide an article of the character described which is composed of a minimum number of parts, is therefore simple in construction, and is cheap to manufacture. 1
.With these and other objects in view, the invention consists in the construction and drawings, and ointed out in the claims hereto ap ende it being understood that in the scope of the claims, may be resorted to without departing from the s irit or vention. 1 v In the drawings: Figure 1 is a perspection, Fig. 2 is. a plan view showin the outer face thereof, Fig. 3 is a similar view of the reverse side Fig. 4 is a cross sectional view therethroug 1, 'Fig. 5 is a plan view showing 6 is a plan view of the reverse side thereof.
Like reference numerals designate correntended to display sponding parts in allv the figures of the drawings. 4
Referringtothe drawings and more particularly to Figs. 1 to a inclusive, there s shown an article adapted to. be employed as either a hat bandor a belt. This article consists of anelongated rectangular body 5 preferably of soft leather," which is pro 'vided with a series of spaced openings 6 arranged longitudinally along its length.
Disposed against the inner face of this body s an elongated rectangular body of trans I parent material 7' such as celluloid or'the like. The longitudinal edges of this transparent body are folded outwardly 'to-form attaching'flanges 8,-8 and the longitudinal" edges of the body .5 -:ire inwardly turned-to form hems which arerespectively dis posed over the flanges 8-8. 'Longitudinal rows of stitching .10"1O are employed for securing the parts together.
Display cards which are each indicated by g the reference numeral 11, are adapted to be detach'ably mounted in rear of the transparent body 7 and in rear of the openings 6. the u per. and lower edges'thereof 'bein dispose between the trans arent body Tan the flanges 8--8 thereof. t will thus ti'on, the cards 11 may 'bejeasily removed or attached and when in the-latter positions, will be firmly held 4 b against accidental disp acement. he rear face of each card 11 is preferably left blank so that appropriate remarks relating to the be observed that by reasonof this constructhe flan es 88 card in question ma be written thereu on.
- Secured to one en of the body 5 is a oop '12 to which is attached an ordinary buckle 13.. .Secured'to, the other end of the body 5 is one endof a strap 14 adapted for en'- gagement with the buckle 18 to readily se cure the article in place'.-
In the modified form of the invention, as illustrated in Figs. 5 and 6, there is shown a watch-fob which consists of a body '5 hBuV". *ing an opening 6 formed therein. Disposed against the rear face thereof isa transparent body 7, the longitudinal edges thereof being outwardly bent to form flanges 8 and 8. .The longitudinal edges of thebody 5 are bent over upon the flanges 8 to form hems 9*. These parts are secured by longitudinal rows of stitchings 10. A card 11* has its longitudinal edges disposed between the body 7 and the flanges 8. Secured to the upper end of this body 5 is an body being inturned upon the flanges of the strip, said body and inturned edges thereof being'secured to the strip and its flanges by a' series of, stitchings.
2. An article of ap arel consisting of an elongated body of flexible material having a' series of spaced openings formed along its sof which I length, a; strip of celluloid secured against one face of said body over the o enings thereof and formed with spaced lon ltudinal flan s for receiving a lurality 0 display car s,- the edges of the ody be1n .inturned upon the flanges of the strip, sai body and inturned edges thereof being secured to the strip and its flanges by a series of stitchings,
and attaching means for the article respectively connected to the endsof said body.
In testimony whereof, we afiix our Signatures in presence of two witnesses.
