IMPROVEMENT IN ADVERTISING-DESKS.

Be it known that I, H. W. CROTZER, of Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia. and State of Pennsylvania, have invented anew and useful Improvement in Advertising and Writing-Desks or Tables; and l do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had tothe accompanying drawing and the letters ot` reference marked thereon, like letters designating like parts in all the figures.

The. nature of my invention consists in the peculiar construction of a table for hotels and other public places, by meansof which advertisements can be conspicuously displayed, and also in providing convenient receptacles or card-drawers in said table or desk for business cards, &c.

To enable others skilled in the art to make and use my invention, I will proceed to describe its construction and operation.

A represent the table or desk, on the top of which is placed one or more series ot' drawers, l5 B, in which may be placed business cards.

Above these drawers is placedv a box or frame, C. To each side oi' this box C is hinged a frame or sash,

D, in which are openings, E, through which the advertisements are seen.

lhe cards are placed against the box C, and inside the frame or sash D is placed glass to protect the cards.

- lhe business cards of an advertiser can be placed in the drawer directly under said ad\ertiselnent, thus being convenient for distribution.

In the bottom of cach drawer is a pin, a, which tits in a slot-,11,in the top ofthe table or desk, and, although the drawer can be opened from either side, it cannot be easily det-ached from the table or desk.

For convenience of transportation the sides of the table may be joined to the ends by fastenings usually used on bedsteads, thus enabling it "to be readily taken apart and packed, if desired.
