BATH ACCESSORY. APPLICATION FILED MAB-.1; 1911.

BATH ACCESSORY.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Application filed March 1, 1911.
Patented Oct. 17, 1911.
Serial No. 611,595.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, FRANK HEss, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Kalispell, in the county of Flathead and State of Montana, have invented a new and Improved Bath Accessory, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
Among the principal objects which the present invention has in view are: to pro vide a towel supporting frame arranged to be readily adjusted to a bath tub of usual construction, said frame being provided with means for securing the towel firmly in the frame; to provide a device of the char acter mentioned adapted for attachment to the inclined end of the bath tub; and to provide an article of the character described which is simple, efficient and durable in construction and operation.
One embodiment of the present invention is disclosed in the structure illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which like characters of reference denote corresponding parts in all the views, and in which Figure 1 is a perspective view of a bath tub of usual construction, having attached thereto a back washing accessory constructed and arranged in accordance with the present invention; Fig. 2 is a side edge view of an accessory of the character named; and Fig. 3 is a detail view in perspective, showing the upper fragment of the towel supporting frame and towel held therein.
As shown in the accompanying drawings, 35 the towel A is folded and stretched upon a wood frame 8. The frame 8 is of any suitable size, and has fixedly attached to the back thereof bracket hooks 9. The hooks 9 are shaped substantially as shown in Fig. 3 4d of the drawings, being adapted to extend over the curled edge B of the usual bath tub C. The frame 8'is provided to hold any usual towel, thereby avoiding the necessity of special padding or toweling devoted 4-8 to this purpose. That the frame 8 may be adapted for the use of all sorts and characters of towels there are provided the holding loops 10, the ends whereof are screw threaded to be engaged by turn buckles 11.
50 The loops 10 are held upon the frame 8 and guided thereon by eyelets 12 as the loops are extended or drawn upon the ends of the frame 8 and the towel interposed between the said ends and loops. It is to provide for 55 rotating the turn buckles 11 that I have provided the recesses 13 in the sides of the frame 8. The recesses 13 are disposed adj acent the upper end of the frame 8 so that the towel A may be tightened or otherwise adjusted after the frame has been placed in position on the tub, the recesses 13 being then extended above the edge of the tub.
In the operation of the invention the towel A is stretched over the ends of the frame 8, and when properly adjusted the turn buckles 11 are manipulated to draw the loops 10 upon the ends of the towel to hold the same firmly in position. To remove the towel the turn buckles 11 are manipulated in the reverse direction, releasing the ends of the towel. It will be appreciated that to secure and release the towel is rapidly and readily effected.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is 1. A bath accessory, comprising an elongated frame to extend from the bottom to adjacent the rim of a bath tub; a removable towel covering for said frame; a plurality of loop members extended across the upper and lower end of said frame outside said towel covering to hold said covering between said loops and said frame; and means for moving said loops to clamp said cover.
2. A bath accessory, comprising an elongated frame; supporting members for said frame arranged to extend over the rim of a bath tub to maintain the frame in operative relation therein; a removable towel covering for said frame the ends whereof extend loosely over the ends of said frame; a plu rality of loops extended from the end of said frame having screw threaded ends guidedly mounted on said frame, saidloops adapted to clamp said towel covering upon said frame; and a plurality of turn buckles thread engaged with the ends of said loops to draw the said loops in clamping relation upon said covering and said frame.
3. A bath accessory, comprising an elongated rigid-backed frame; supporting members for said frame arranged to extend over the rim of a bath tub to maintain the frame in operative relation therein; a removable towel covering for said frame the ends whereof extend loosely over the ends of said frame; a plurality of loops extended from the end of said frame having screw threaded ends guidedly mounted on said frame, said loops adapted to clamp said towel covering name to this speoification in the presence of upon said frame; and a plurality of turn tWo subscribing Witnesses. buckles thread engaged With the ends of said loops to draw the said loops in clamp- FRANK HESS 5 ing relation upon said covering and said Witnesses: 1
