Изобретение относится к области химической технологии, а именно, к способу получения йодсульфона, являющегося органическим сульфойодидным препаратом - дийодметил-п-толилсульфон. Способ включает получение натриевой соли п-толуолсульфитокислоты из п-толуолсульфохлорида, взаимодействие натриевой соли п-толуолсульфитокислоты с монохлоруксусной кислотой с образованием п-толилсульфонилуксусной кислоты и взаимодействие последней в щелочной среде с молекулярным йодом при температуре +4 ... 50C в течение 1 ... 1,5 часа с последующей выдержкой при комнатной температуре 1,5 часа.
