Abstract

Description
本申請案主張於2014年6月16日提出申請之第62/012,505號美國臨時專利申請案之權利,該美國臨時專利申請案之全部內容以引用方式併入本文中。
本發明一般而言係關於鎧裝電纜(armored cable),且具體而言係關於一種用於鎧裝電纜之裝配件。
當前,鎧裝保護式電纜已用於若干種在危險位置中需要對其進行外部保護之應用中。各種地方及聯邦法規與規範亦要求在此類環境中進行保護。
一實例性實施例包含一種用於一電纜之裝配件(fitting),該電纜容納於一波紋金屬管(corrugated metal tubing)中,該裝配件包含:一配接器,具有一內部縱向通道以接納該電纜;一主體,耦接至該配接器;一內部密封件,定位於該配接器與該主體之間,該內部密封件係圍繞該電

第1圖係為在一實例性實施例中,一耦接至鎧裝電纜12之鎧裝電纜裝配件10之一立體圖。電纜12可係為一容納於具有一套管之一波紋金屬管中之電力電纜、光纖電纜、通訊電纜等。裝配件10包含一配接器100、主體200、及螺母300。如本文中更詳細所述,裝配件10包含三個密封機構,以圍繞電纜12維持一不透流體(例如,液體及/或氣體)之密封。
第2圖係為第1圖所示鎧裝電纜裝配件10及電纜12之一剖視圖。電纜12係容納於金屬管14(諸如具有一系列峰部(peak)及凹部之波紋不銹鋼管(例如,環形或螺旋形))中。金屬管14在其一外表面上包含一套管16。套管16可係由一聚合物材料製成,以保護金屬管14免受環境因素、腐蝕物等影響。
配接器100經由一內部縱向通道接納電纜12。配接器100包含一具有外螺紋之第一端102。第一端102係接納於主體200之一帶內螺紋腔202中。腔202中亦定位有一圍繞電纜12徑向設置之內部密封件400。內部密封件400緊靠第一端102之遠端。在配接器100被擰入至主體200中時,內部密封件400被壓縮成隔絕流體(例如,液體、氣體等)。內部密封件400可係為一種可被重複壓縮且仍提供一不透流體之密封的彈性密封件。
螺母300定位於套管16上。螺母300包含一內部徑向凹槽302,以接納一抵靠套管16進行密封之套管密封件500(例如,一o形環)。套管密封件500抵靠套管16提供一不透流體之密封。
一密封構件600定位於螺母300內部。密封構件600可係為一對開口環(split ring)、一有縫夾套(collet)、一C形環等。密封構件600係接納於金屬管14之一凹部中,以限制金屬管14相對於螺母300之運動。密封構件600包含一圓錐形密封表面602(第5圖),以如本文所述使金屬管抵靠主體密封表面206(第4圖)壓縮。
主體200具有一帶外螺紋端204,帶外螺紋端204係接納於螺母300之一帶內螺紋腔304中。在主體200被擰入至螺母300中時,金屬管14(例如,一峰部或二個金屬層)被壓縮於密封構件600之一密封表面與主體200之一主體密封表面之間。此在密封構件600與主體200之間形成一不透流體之金屬間密封。
為將裝配件10組裝至電纜12,移除金屬管14及套管16之一區段。可在一凹部中切割金屬管14。將電纜12路由穿過螺母300並將密封構件600放置於金屬管14之一凹部中。將螺母300上緊至主體200,以形成金屬間密封。隨後,可將配接器100擰入至主體200中,以壓縮內部密封件400。
第3圖係為配接器100之一剖視圖。配接器100包含外螺紋102,以與主體200上之內螺紋配合。配接器100亦在一遠端處包含外螺紋104,以使該配接器與現有設備配合。
第4圖係為一主體200之一剖視圖。主體密封表面206係為一環狀圓弧形表面,例如,一球體之一區段。當金屬管14被壓縮於圓形主體密封表面206與密封構件600之圓錐形密封表面602(第5圖)之間時,此在金屬管14中形成一線式密封(line seal)。
第5圖係為密封構件600之一剖視圖。第5圖中顯示一具有一
截頭圓錐形橫截面之平坦密封表面602。金屬管14被壓縮於密封表面602與主體密封表面206之間,以形成一不透流體之金屬間密封。
第6圖係為螺母300之一剖視圖。第6圖中顯示用於接納套管密封件500之凹槽302、及內螺紋304。
一種根據實施例之裝配件為鎧裝電纜提供多重密封。一級密封係為密封構件600之一圓錐形密封表面602與主體200之圓形密封表面206間之一金屬間密封。此密封在金屬管與裝配件之間維持一內部及外部密封。二級密封係為利用一內部密封件400(例如,彈性環)而達成之一壓縮密封,內部密封件400被壓縮於主體200與配接器100之間且在電纜12與裝配件10之間形成一密封。三級密封係為套管環形密封件500(例如,一彈性環),其密封至鎧裝電纜上之套管16之外徑上。
實施例包含一種用於波紋金屬鎧裝電纜之完全可再用裝配件。該裝配件提供外部及內部密封機構,以將鎧裝保護式電纜自終端端接點(end termination)隔離。該裝配件包含一配接器,該配接器在一側上包含用以安裝至現有設備之外螺紋且在另一側上包含用以配合至一主體之外螺紋;該主體在一側上包含一彈性密封件及用以與配接器配合之內螺紋,且包含一具有用以與一螺母配合之外螺紋之圓錐形球面密封表面。該螺母在一側上包含藉由壓縮方式將波紋鎧裝機械附裝至該主體的一密封構件及內螺紋。該螺母在另一側上包含一彈性密封件。

Claims (14)
- 一種用於一電纜之裝配件(fitting),該電纜容納於一波紋金屬管(corrugated metal tubing)中,該裝配件包含:一配接器,具有一內部縱向通道以接納該電纜;一主體,耦接至該配接器;一內部密封件(internal seal),定位於該配接器與該主體之間,該內部密封件圍繞該電纜徑向設置;一螺母,耦接至該主體;以及一密封構件,定位於該螺母與該主體之間,該密封構件用於放置於該波紋金屬管之一凹部(valley)中,以將該波紋金屬管之一部分壓縮於該密封構件與該主體之間。
