Description

低色偏之顯示面板
本發明係關於一種顯示面板,尤指一種低色偏之顯示面板。
當觀賞者從側面觀看一般的顯示面板時,播放的影像都會產生色差及色偏現象,此係由於光學紅、綠、藍延遲(RGB retardation)的結果,為了解決色差及色偏現象,目前之設計,在顯示面板上畫素陣列中的每一子畫素包含綠色子畫素、藍色子畫素、及紅色子畫素皆會設置多個電晶體,且不同子畫素中之該些電晶體的通道設計值(即為通道寬長比W/L ratio)皆為一致,此將影響顯示面板之色偏表現,請參照圖1(A)及1(B),為一般具有綠色子畫素、藍色子畫素、及紅色子畫素之顯示面板的一第一量測示意圖及一第二量測示意圖,其不同子畫素中該些電晶體的通道設計值(即為通道寬長比W/L ratio)皆為一致,如圖1(A)的64-128灰階-側視(側面觀看)伽碼圖的虛線框11所示,可看出該綠色子畫素、該藍色子畫素、及該紅色子畫素為一發散(divergence)狀態,如圖1(B)之灰階-色度圖所示,白色的色座標(Wx,Wy)的正視(normal view)與側視(side view)比較,可看出正視(正面觀看)與側視(側面觀看)色度上的明顯差異,而在側面觀看伽碼曲線時,會發現紅大於綠、綠大於藍,且轉換成灰階時在64-128灰階會有一發散現象,進而導致灰階產生偏黃的效果。
因此,一種低色偏之顯示面板,以有效降低影響影像品質的色差及色偏等,幾經研究實驗終至完成本發明。
本發明之目的在於提供一種低色偏之顯示面板,以便在側面觀看該顯示面板時,可以有與正面觀看同樣的避免色差及色偏之效果。
依據本發明之特色,本發明係提供一種顯示面板,包括:一畫素陣列,其中該畫素陣列至少包含一第一子畫素,及一第二子畫素,其中該第一子畫素,及該第二子畫素分別包含:一資料線;一閘極線;一第一電晶體,耦接於該資料線與一第一液晶電容之間,並且具有一閘極耦接至該閘極線;一第二電晶體,耦接於該資料線與一第二液晶電容之間,並且具有一閘極耦接至該閘極線;以及一第三電晶體,耦接於一共同電壓與該第二電晶體之間,並且具有一閘極耦接至該閘極線;其中,該第一子畫素具有一第一比值,該第一比值係為該第一子畫素中該第三電 晶體的通道寬長比除以該第二電晶體的通道寬長比的值;其中,該第二子畫素具有一第二比值,該第二比值係為該第二子畫素中該第三電晶體的通道寬長比除以該第二電晶體的通道寬長比的值;其中,該第二比值係小於該第一比值。
藉此,本案低色偏之顯示面板,可透過調整電晶體的寬長比,來達到降低色偏及色差,使得從側面觀看該顯示面板時與正面觀看該顯示面板時相同。

首先,請參照圖2及圖3,係本發明顯示面板及畫素陣列之示意圖。如圖所示,該顯示面板13,包括:一畫素陣列1;一閘極驅動器14,用以連接該畫素陣列1所連接的該些閘極線G1-Gn;一資料驅動器15,用以連接該畫素陣列1的該些資料線D1-Dn,其中該畫素陣列1包含一 第一子畫素2、一第二子畫素3、及一第三子畫素4,其中該第一子畫素2、該第二子畫素3、該第三子畫素4分別包含:一資料線5;一閘極線Gi;一第一電晶體8耦接於該資料線5與一第一液晶電容6之間,並且具有一閘極耦接至該閘極線Gi;一第二電晶體9耦接於該資料線5與一第二液晶電容7之間,並且具有一閘極耦接至該閘極線Gi;以及一第三電晶體10耦接於一共同電壓Vcom與該第二電晶體7之間,並且具有一閘極耦接至該閘極線Gi,即該第一子畫素2連接資料線Dj+1,該第二子畫素3連接資料線Dj+2,該第三子畫素4連接資料線Dj。較佳地,於本實施例中,該第一子畫素2為綠色(G)子畫素,該第二子畫素3為藍色(B)子畫素,該第三子畫素4為紅色(R)子畫素,亦即,該第一子畫素2、第二子畫素3、及第三子畫素4係組成一般液晶顯示器之一完整畫素點。
其中,該第一子畫素2具有一第一比值,該第一比值係為該第一子畫素2中該第三電晶體10的通道寬長比除以該第二電晶體9的通道寬長比的值,即第一子畫素(G)中第三電晶體通道寬除以通道長(W3/L3)和第二電晶體通道寬除以通道長(W2/L2)的比值(W3/L3)/(W2/L2);該第二子畫素3具有一第二比值,該第二比值係為該第二子畫素3中該第三電晶體10的通道寬長比除以該第二電晶體9的通道寬長比的值,即第二子畫素(B)中第三電晶體通道寬除以通道長(W3/L3)和第二電晶體通道寬除以通道長(W2/L2)的比值(W3/L3)/(W2/L2);該第三子畫素4具有一第三比值,該 第三比值係為該第三子畫素4中該第三電晶體10的通道寬長比除以該第二電晶體9的通道寬長比的值,即第三子畫素(R)中第三電晶體通道寬除以通道長(W3/L3)和第二電晶體通道寬除以通道長(W2/L2)的比值(W3/L3)/(W2/L2)。其中,該第二比值係小於該第一比值,該第三比值係大於該第一比值。藉由該第一、第二、及第三比值的設定,可調控側面觀看顯示面板之色差及色偏的效果。
在本實施例中,該第一比值係介於0.1至0.5之間,該第二比值係大於0.8倍的該第一比值,該第三比值係小於1.2倍的該第一比值。
在另一實施例中,該第一比值係介於0.2至0.4之間。較佳地,該第一比值為0.3。
在另一實施例中,該第二比值係大於0.9倍的該第一比值。較佳地,該第二比值為0.9倍的該第一比值。
在另一實施例中,該第三比值係小於1.1倍的該第一比值。較佳地,該第三比值為1.1倍的該第一比值。
請同時參照圖4(A)及4(B),為本發明顯示面板之一第一量測示意圖及一第二量測示意圖。其中,該第二比值為0.9倍的該第一比值,該第三比值為1.1倍的該第一比值,因此該第一比值、該第二比值、及該第三比值相比為1:0.9:1.1。如圖4(A)的64-128灰階-側視(側面觀看)伽碼圖的虛線框12所示,可看出該第一(G)子畫素2、該第二(B)子畫素3、及該第三(R)子畫素4為一收斂(convergence)狀態。如圖4(B)之灰階-色度圖所示,白色的色座標(Wx,Wy) 的正視(normal view)與側視(side view)比較,可看出正視(正面觀看)與側視(側面觀看)色度上的差異變小,如此即可降低色偏及色差之效果。
藉由本發明之低色偏之顯示面板13,由於已調控好每一子畫素所具有之比值,因此在側面觀看該顯示面板時可避免色差及色偏,而可避免影響影像的品質,進而大幅提升了顯示品質。

Claims (10)

  1. 一種顯示面板,包括:一畫素陣列,其中該畫素陣列至少包含一第一子畫素,及一第二子畫素,其中該第一子畫素,及該第二子畫素分別包含:一資料線;一閘極線;一第一電晶體,耦接於該資料線與一第一液晶電容之間,並且具有一閘極耦接至該閘極線;一第二電晶體,耦接於該資料線與一第二液晶電容之間,並且具有一閘極耦接至該閘極線;以及一第三電晶體,耦接於一共同電壓與該第二電晶體之間,並且具有一閘極耦接至該閘極線;其中,該第一子畫素具有一第一比值,該第一比值係為該第一子畫素中該第三電晶體的通道寬長比除以該第二電晶體的通道寬長比的值;其中,該第二子畫素具有一第二比值,該第二比值係為該第二子畫素中該第三電晶體的通道寬長比除以該第二電晶體的通道寬長比的值;其中,該第二比值係小於該第一比值。
  2. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之顯示面板,其中,該第二比值係大於0.8倍的該第一比值。
  3. 如申請專利範圍第2項所述之顯示面板,其中,該第二比值係大於0.9倍的該第一比值。
  4. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之顯示面板,其中,該第一子畫素為綠色子畫素,該第二子畫素為藍色子畫素。
  5. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之顯示面板,其中該畫素陣列更包含一第三子畫素,該第三子畫素包含:一資料線;一閘極線;一第一電晶體,耦接於該資料線與一第一液晶電容之間,並且具有一閘極耦接至該閘極線;一第二電晶體,耦接於該資料線與一第二液晶電容之間,並且具有一閘極耦接至該閘極線;以及一第三電晶體,耦接於一共同電壓與該第二電晶體之間,並且具有一閘極耦接至該閘極線;其中,該第三子畫素具有一第三比值,該第三比值係為該第三子畫素中該第三電晶體的通道寬長比除以該第二電晶體的通道寬長比的值;其中,該第三比值係大於該第一比值。
  6. 如申請專利範圍第5項所述之顯示面板,其中,該第三比值係小於1.2倍的該第一比值。
  7. 如申請專利範圍第5項所述之顯示面板,其中,該第三比值係小於1.1倍的該第一比值。
  8. 如申請專利範圍第5項所述之顯示面板,其中,該第三子畫素為紅色子畫素。
  9. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之顯示面板,其中,該第一比值係介於0.1至0.5之間。
  10. 如申請專利範圍第1項所述之顯示面板,其中,該第一比值係介於0.2至0.4之間。
