Description
九、發明說明: 【發明所屬之技術領域】 本發明是有關於一種發光二極體(light emitting diode; LED),且特別是有關於一種應用於液晶顯示器中背光模組 之發光二極體陣列》 【先前技術】 背光模組的操作原理,.係經由導光板將背光源的光線 導引成平面光源,來確保亮度的均勻性。背光模組常用的 背光源例如有冷陰極螢光燈以及發光二極體等。雖然目前 係以冷陰極螢光燈為主流,然而對發光二極體的需求卻與 曰增加。相較於冷陰極螢光燈,發光二極體具有體積小、 壽命長、驅動電壓低、耗電量少以及耐震性佳等優點。 一般而言,以LED背光源通常會直接使用白色led或 是以紅綠藍(RGB)三原色LED混光而發出的白色光。由於 白色LED色彩飽和度低,所以大部分用於電視機的LED背 光模組係以RGB三原色LED來混光而發出白色光。請參 照第1圖,係繪示一種習知的RGB三原色LED的配置排 列之矩陣示意圖。在第1圖中,RGB之配置矩陣係由 的矩陣所組成,且以此矩陣為一最小重複矩陣單元。如第i 圖所示,綠色LED之個數分別為紅色LED與藍色Led之 個數的兩倍,且其係排列於第丨行第2列與第2行第^列 中。而紅色LED與藍色LED則分別排列於第!行第ι列與 第2行第2列中。 習知的LED背光源則是以上述之RGB配置矩陣為一 =複:元’接著再依背光源尺寸大小的需求來調整配 :矩陣的最小重複單元數量,以組成LED背光源。在背光 ^组中…般會在距離LED背光源約為2_5公分處再加上 =具有不同功能之光學膜片,如擴散板、聚光片等,以 =向背光模Μ之亮度。然、而,由於受限於led背光源至光 予膜片之混光距離,f知以RGB配置矩陣作為led背光 源僅能在LED面板的中間區域產生均勻白光,而卻無法於 周邊處均勻地產生白光。倘若欲進一步増加混光距離,不 僅在LED面板周邊處會產生色偏的現象,而且會增加背光 模組的體積1是縮小混光距離,又容易會有橫紋色偏的 問題’而且會讓LED面板周邊的色偏現象更為嚴重。因此, 如何有效地利用RGB配置矩陣來混出白光,且能在背光源 到光學膜片之最小距離下’又能有效地產生均句且全面性 地白色光’為目前重要考量的項目之一。 因此,有必要提供一種新的RGB配置排列,以解決上 述之問題。 【發明内容】 因此本發明的目的就是在提供一種三原色LED之配置 矩陣,不僅可以在背光源至光學模板之最小距離下均勻地 混出白光’更可以產生全面性的均勻白光。 根據本發明之上述目的,提出一種三原色LED之配置 矩陣裝置。二原色LED配置矩陣裝置係應用於一液晶顯示 器之一背光源中,其係包含第一 LED、第二及第三 LED。其中,第一 LED、第二LED與第三[ED係排列成 1345107 =4的矩陣單元,且以此4χ4的矩陣單元為_最小重複矩陣 單元°第一LED、第三LED與第三LED之個數比為2: ] ·· 卜最小矩陣單元之每—行與每—列中具有兩個第—咖, 且每-個第-LED係不相鄰,亦即上下左右間隔排列 :矩陣單元I最小矩料元之每—行每—列巾分別具有 一個第二LED與一個第三LED。 依照本發明一較佳實施例,上述之第一 LED、第二;lED 第三LED所發出之光分別為紅藍綠三原色之…在本發明 之一較佳實施例中,第一 led較佳為綠色lEd。 第一 LED、第二LED與第三LED係分別以α、点與 r表不,其t最小矩陣單元較佳排列如下: a β a r Ϊ a β a a Υ a β β a r a 或者,更可以在上述第—LEDa之排列位置不改變的 情況下’將第二LED3與第三LEDt之排列位置互換。 在本發明之再一較佳實施例中,可以調整上述之第一 LEDa之排列位置,其較佳排列如下: β α γ d a Y a β r cc β a _α β a γ 在本發明之更一較佳實施例中,更可以在上述第一 LEDa之排列位置不改變的情況下,將第I㈣点與第三 LED τ之排列位置互換。 8 1345107 因此,利用本發明之RGB三原色配置矩陣所組成之背 光源,可以在背光源至光學模板之最小距離下,約介於i5 mm至25 mm之間,均勻地混出白光,以降低周邊區域色 偏的間題。再者’應用本發明更可以均勻地且全面性地發 出白光。 【實施方式】 本發明提供-種職三原色LED之配置矩陣,以均 勻混出白光。RGB三原色LED配置矩陣係由第一 led、第 二LED與第三LED所組成,且係定義㈣的矩陣為一最小 的矩陣單元。其中,第—LED、第二LED與第三led之 個數比為2 : 1 : 1。上述之第一 LED、第二㈣第三咖 所發出之光分別為紅藍綠三原色之…在本發明之一較佳 實施例中,第-LED較佳為綠色LED,但並不用以限定本 發明之範圍。 产上述之最小矩陣單元之每_行與每_列中分別具有兩 個第- LED,且每-個第-LED係上下左右間隔排列於最 小矩陣單元中。第—LED係以α表示之。請參照第2_3圖, 其繪示依縣發明之—較佳實_之第—LED的配置矩陣 之示意圖。如第2圖所示’第一 係排列於⑴"、⑴ 3]、[2, 2]、[2, 4]、[3, 1]、[3, 3]、[4, 2]與[4, 4]的位置上。’ 也就是說’每一行與每—列分別具有兩個第一咖。,且 於該最小矩料元之每-個第—LEDa彼此不相鄰, 上下左右間隔排列。 或者,更可以依需求將第—LEDa排列為如第3圖所 9
