Abstract

The present invention provides a type of refrigerator utilizing a three-way valve or alike as a channel switching device for coolant. While switching coolant from freezer compartment loop to cooler compartment loop, this device could minimize the cooling loose caused by the supply delay of coolant during the channel switching process and result a high efficiency refrigeration process. This device is also capable to prevent noise from happening by evenly distributing coolant into freezer compartment loop and cooler compartment loop. The invention is realized by setting separate coolant loops (7, 9) and air circulation fans (8, 10) for freezer and cooler compartments. By means of channel switching valve 14, coolant is switched back and forth between freezer and cooler compartment loops. While switching coolant from freezer compartment loop 7 to cooler compartment loop 9, a refrigerator is under the dual-loop operation mode, coolant operated in both loops. Under the dual-loop operation mode, refrigerator's operation feature is described below. The impedance of the cooler compartment loop will be increased if coolant temperature at inlet and outlet of the cooler compartment loop is under a pre-set value. The loop impedance will be decreased if the coolant temperature is above a pre-set value.
