The invention relates to the production of barium salts, in particular, to the disposal of sludge from the production of barium chloride by the hydrochloric acid method.

A known method for the disposal of sludge from the production of barium chloride by the hydrochloric acid method is by treating the suspended sludge with a salt of sulfuric acid. In this case, the barium contained in the sludge in the form of sulphide, carbonate and silicate, goes into solution in the form of chloride. The resulting hydrogen sulfide partially leaves the gas phase.

Недостатками известного способа  вл ютс  его повышенна  опасность дл  обслуживающего персонала, св занна  с выделением сероводорода в газовую фазу при обработке шлама , и сложность осушествлепи  процесса, обусловленна  необходимостью многократного промежуточного определени  степени воздействи  реагентов на полноту обезвреживани .The disadvantages of this method are its increased danger to staff, associated with the release of hydrogen sulfide in the gas phase during the processing of sludge, and the complexity of the process, due to the need for multiple intermediate determination of the degree of influence of reagents on the completeness of neutralization.

6,5-8.In order to eliminate these drawbacks, it is proposed to use iron sulfate as the salt of sulfuric acid in an amount that is 10-30% higher than the stoichiometrically necessary with respect to the barium ion contained in the liquid phase, and the treatment should be carried out to a pH of 6.5-8.

Example. 40 lz of suspended sludge containing 36 g / l in the liquid phase are treated in the reactor for 10 minutes with 10.8 m of a 13% solution of ferrous sulphate of iron, which is taken with a 20% excess of the stoichiometric required with respect to the barium ion contained in the liquid phase.

After processing the suspension, ions and S are absent in the liquid phase due to their precipitation in the form of practically

Hydrogen sulfide is not released in the process.

The pH of the resulting suspension is 6.5, which allows the suspension to be sent directly to the storage tank without further processing.

The proposed method can be easily implemented in existing equipment and allows to neutralize the gaps and waste
