Description
The invention relates to the production of ozone by electrical discharge and can be used in analytical instrumentation.
The aim of the invention is to increase the stability of ozone generation and reduce energy costs.
The drawing shows a diagram of the ozone generator.
Внутренний 3 и наружный 2 электроды соединены с источником 6 высоковольтного напр жени .A metallized coating is applied to the outer cylindrical dielectric tube 1, which forms the outer electrode 2. The inner electrode 3, which is a hollow metal cylinder, is sealed to the inlet air nozzle 4. Holes 5 are applied to the lateral surface of the cylinder 3, the total cross-sectional area The cross sections of the openings are larger than the cross section of the air inlet 4. The inner 3 and outer 2 electrodes are connected to the high voltage source 6.
The ozone generator works as follows.
Air under pressure through the nozzle 4 enters into the inside of a hollow metal cylinder (internal electrode 3), leaves it through the holes 5, thereby creating an air shower effect inside the dielectric tube 1. Air jets are subjected to an electric discharge from the source 6 of high voltage. . Discharge occurs inside the dielectric tube, the resulting ozone is fed to the output of the generator.
The total cross-sectional area of the holes 5 is chosen larger than the cross-sectional area of the fitting 4 in order to prevent the occurrence of stagnant volumes and excessive pressure inside the ozonizer. Increasing the pressure increases the speed of the passage of air jets, which reduces the time it takes the discharge to oxygen, and ultimately to the concentration of ozone.
In the course of experimental studies, it was found that the location of the holes 5 on the side surface of the electrode 3 by concentric circles, in a straight line, spiral and so on has no decisive role on the level and stability of concentration. The effect of splitting a single air stream into multiple
Электрический разр д более эффективно воздействует на отдельные воздушныеair jets can reduce the effect of turbulence, increase the concentration of ozone production and its stability. Electrical discharge more effectively affects individual air
The table shows the experimental data obtained when comparing the proposed and known generators
при одинаковых исходных услови х (расход воздуха, габариты, диэлектрические трубки, величина напр жени и мощность разр дного импульса).under the same initial conditions (air flow, dimensions, dielectric tubes, voltage and discharge pulse power).
From these data, it can be seen that, with the same power, the proposed generator allows to produce more ozone, and the stability of ozone generation almost doubles. The latter is especially important when using an ozone generator in chemiluminescent gas analyzers designed to measure the concentration of nitric oxide, where strict requirements are placed on the stability of the level of ozone concentration. In addition, due to the effect of the air shower, the power of the electric discharge is reduced.
