Abstract

TRACTION COEFFICIENT REDUCING LUBRICATING OIL COMPOSITION The present invention is directed to a traction coefficient reducing lubricating oil composition comprising (a) a major amount of an oil of lubricating viscosity comprising a blend of two or more isomerized Fischer-Tropsch derived base oils wherein the kinematic viscosity of the blend is in a range from about 2 to about 14 centistokes at 1000C, and (b) one or more lubricating oil additives wherein the lubricating oil composition is essentially free of friction modifiers. The present invention is also directed to a method for reducing the traction coefficient in internal combustion engines comprising lubricating the internal combustion engines with a lubricating oil composition comprising (a) a major amount of an oil of lubricating viscosity comprising a blend of two or more isomerized Fischer-Tropsch derived base oils wherein the kinematic viscosity of the blend is in a range from about 2 to about 14 centistokes at 1000C, and (b) one or more lubricating oil additives wherein the lubricating oil composition is essentially free of friction modifiers.
