Abstract

(FIG. 1) “ELEVATOR RIDING DETECTION SYSTEM” According to one embodiment, an elevator riding detection system includes an image capturing means (12), a detection area setting means (22a), a user 5 detection means (22d) and control means (31). The image capturing means (12) captures an image of a certain range when a car (11) arrives a floor (15), the range between the proximity of a door (13) of the car (11) and the floor (15). The detection area setting 10 means (22a) detects a sill (A3) between the car (11) and the floor (15) in order to set a detection area (E) on the image on the basis of the sill (A3) detected. The user detection means (22d) detects a user on the basis of a motion of a person and/or an object within 15 the detection area (E) using a plurality of consecutive images. The control means (31) controls an open/close operation of the door (13) on the basis of a detection result from the user detection means (22d).
