Abstract

An inlay (1) for an absorbent hygiene article such as nappies or incontinence pads contains a first water permeable material layer, on either side of which are elongated absorption bodies (3, 4), positioned on either side of the length symmetry axis (A-A) of the first layer and at a distance from the length edges of this layer. A second water permeable material layer (5) is firmly secured to the absorption bodies and first layer, extending over the entire length of both absorption bodies. Fastener tabs (7, 8) are attached to the underside of the first layer, i.e the side facing away from the person wearing the inlay, in a region between a length edge of the first layer and the nearest absorption body to this edge. These regions form fastener flaps (9, 10) for securing the inlay to a hygiene article.
