Abstract

The microprocessor control unit is connected by signal lines to devices controlling the fuel system, retarder and antilock (ABS)/antislip (ASR)braking system. It responds to a braking program switch near the driver's left foot, a clutch-pedal switch and sources connected to the tachograph, transmission mode selector lever, economy/hillclimb mode selector,retarder coolant thermometer etc. The redn. of fuel supply is phased or its rate is adapted so that the gear change can be effected at min. torque when the residual amplitude of vibration in the drive train is minimal.
