Abstract

In a roof rack foot for fastening a roof rack bar (9) over a vehicle roof (1, 2), a support part (17) bears against the roof. The foot (8) has a clamping device (24) with an engagement part (14) which interacts with an engagement device (12, 13) which is sunk in a channel (3) in the roof (1, 2). The engagement part (14) is a screw which extends with a part (15) freely through an opening (22) in the lower part (16, 17) of the foot (8) and which, on the upper side of a bottom part (16) in the foot (8), has, with a threaded part (20), a threaded engagement with a nut (19) in order to be pressed upwards when the latter is tightened so that the foot (8) is fastened towards the roof (1, 2). The screw (14) extends through the nut (19) and has a head (23) for its fastening in a thread in the engagement device (12, 13). <IMAGE>
