Abstract

An electrically operated valve comprises an electromagnet (14) with a plunger core (12), a free valve member (3) displaceable in a cavity (13) between two oppositely disposed seats (4,5), and a thrust means (33) which may or may not be fixed with respect to the plunger core (12) for actuating the valve member (3) which is also subjected to the force of a spring (15). The first seat (4) is positioned by means of a tool with respect to an abutment surface (38) for the plunger core (12) before the valve member (3) is set in position. The second seat (5) is formed in a closure portion (20) which is progressively driven into position in the assembly operation, while the variation in pressure and/or flow rate of a fluid supplying the valve is observed. The present valve makes it possible to carry out an automated and reliable adjustment process and permits production of its component parts with relatively wide dimensional tolerances. <IMAGE>
