Abstract

A device for locking a pivotable window (3) in at least one opening position comprises a first locking element (11) displaying a first catch and a second locking element (12) displaying a second catch. The first locking element (11) is arranged in a channel in the fixed frame (2) and the second locking element (12) is arranged on a stay arm (5) or link, which is arranged to extend between the fixed frame and the movable frame. The two said locking elements (11 and 12) are arranged to connect with each other, when the window is opened to define e.g. a ventilation position. The element (11) is suitably in the form of a spring strip and is displaceable into the channel to allow the second element to move past it so that the window can be opened further e.g. to a cleaning position. The window can be locked in its fully opened position by a further locking device formed as a pivotable element (10). <IMAGE>
