Abstract

A reinforcing washer to aid the mounting of an object which projects through an opening in a thin surface material which due to its small thickness lacks carrying capacity against surface pressure and sufficient strength to receive and hold mounting means for the object comprises a flat, annular disc 1 preferably made from sheet metal and having an internal diameter d1 equal to the diameter of the opening in the thin surface material. A slot 7 allows the disc to be rotated through the opening. A circumferential flange 2 lies perpendicularly to the plane of the disc and the slot 7 extends radially through the flange at an acute angle (a).
