Abstract

The tension mechanism (4) comprises a socket-shaped seat (7) joined to the outer component (1), and in which engages a rotatable pin (8) formed with a ring-shaped locating surface (15). This surface works in conjunction with a similar surface (12) in the seat, both surfaces being wave-shaped. The pin, in a first rotary angle position in which its wave top formations are engagement with wave-base formations in the seat surface, holds the press plate (3) with loose fitment in the space between the two telescopic parts (1,2), allowing a relative movement between them. In a second rotary angle position, the pin wave top formations locate on corresp. wave-top formations in the seat surface, causing the press plate to be pressed against the inner telescopic component , at the same locking this component in a required position relative to the outer telescopic component.
