Abstract

The insert of the invention can be used wherever magnetisable constituents have to be removed from liquids or suspensions. The aim of the invention is the design of a magnetic filter insert whose cleaning is possible without great labour or apparatus cost, and the danger of mechanical destruction of the matrix elements is to be prevented. The invention describes a simple apparatus according to which the matrix does not have to be broken down into its elements for cleaning, and its destruction is precluded. The matrix elements of the magnetic filter are arranged in a matrix container. The container walls are permeable to suspensions and liquids; the container floor represents an element supporting the matrix elements, and can be constructed as a ring or a holding claw, or as a perforated, grid or slatted floor. The matrix container consists of material with perforations, expanded metal, fabric or bar material. Spacers can be situated between the matrix elements. The main field of application is the elimination of strongly magnetic impurities from ceramic slips.
