Abstract

The invention relates to a central column, composed of an outer and an inner half shell, for the superstructures of passenger cars or estate cars, which serves to hold the rolling-on device of a safety belt in its lower region. The design of such a central column which is particularly favourable in terms of rigidity is achieved according to the invention in that the inner half shell has a bead extending at least over the greatest part of its height and pointing to the outside of the vehicle and that the rolling-on device of the safety belt is arranged in the space formed by the bead.
