Abstract

A sighting mechanism (1) has a target-mark (14) representation facility, which target-mark can be offset out of the sighting axis (7) according to ballistic projectile parameters, to fix both the leads optimum for a hit. Provision is made first of all transiently to illuminate or fade-in a sighting mark (6) which is held in coincidence with a target image (3%), whilst by means of a laser range measuring mechanism (8) the target range (10), and by means of an angular speed measuring mechanism (11) the transverse movement of the target object (3), are determined. According to the projectile that is to be fired, from a READ-ONLY- MEMORY (13) the ballistic parameters thereof are made available and evaluated in a computer (12) together with the measured values for the control of a two-coordinate representing control circuit (15), which illuminates or fades-in the coordinate-shifted target-mark (14) on the target image-field (5) for the launch alignment of the weapon barrel (33) with respect to the instantaneous position of the target (3). <IMAGE>
