Abstract
A process and an apparatus are described for carrying out the concentration in at least two sequential, relative to the liquid to be evaporated, concentrators (1, 2) connected in series. In the evaporation, the heating vapour used is the vapour which is separated from the liquid to be evaporated in connection with the concentration process. This vapour is fed from both the first concentrator in the series and also from the next concentrator in the series to a main blower (13), which blows the vapour back to the concentrators at elevated pressure. In addition, an auxiliary blower (12) is used, which blows vapour separated in the following concentrator (2) in the series prior to its entry into the main blower (13). The auxiliary blower (12) is of substantially smaller size than the main blower (13) and the control of the process can be carried out exclusively by means of control devices attached to the auxiliary blower, by means of which the total energy consumption of the process is reduced and exact control of the solid content of the end product leaving the process is made possible. <IMAGE>
