Abstract

A gauging wheel mechanism for a reversible agricultural machine has an arm 1 which carries a wheel at one end and at the other end is pivoted on two orthogonal shafts 8, 10, one of the shafts 10 being supported by the cheeks of a casing 14 which is open at one end for the passage of the arm 1, one of said cheeks 12 providing at least two stops 17, 18 for holding the arm in the two working positions of the machine, while the other cheek constitutes a guiding surface for bringing the arm from one position to the other at the time of reversal, and a shock absorber comprising a cylinder with a movable piston 28 which defines a variable volume chamber at each end of the cylinder, the chambers being connected by a pipe 33 and the arm 1 being connected by a finger 41 to the mid-point of the piston through a slot 39 in the cylinder. <IMAGE>
