Abstract

A balanced, fixed stroke piston machine comprising a cylinder, at least a first piston part with at least one piston face mounted for reciprocating movement in the cylinder along a desired longitudinal axis, a slide member mounted for reciprocating movement along said longitudinal axis, a balancing member also mounted for reciprocating along said longitudinal axis, the first piston part being associated, and moving longitudinally as a whole, with one of the members slider and balancer, an interconnecting mechanism that connects the slider and balancer members to each other for balancing movement of such members in opposite directions to each other along said axis at all times, a single-rotating crankshaft member elbow that generally extends transversely to said longitudinal geometric axis and that it has a single elbow part therein, and a connecting rod having one end pivotably connected to said elbow part and a second end pivotally connected to the slide member, characterized in that the piston part, the slide member and the balancing member are guided for balancing movement in a straight line with the centers of gravity of those respective members moving in opposite directions on the same desired longitudinal axis at all times, because the interconnecting mechanism has a force transmission arrangement and balancing device that provides proportional straight line movements of the slide and balancer members in opposite directions along said axis at all times, because each of the slide and balancer members includes a respective common connection part which moves longitudinally with such a member, to which the co corresponding symmetrical force transmitting parts of the interconnecting mechanism and in whose common connecting part any transverse components of the forces introduced by the interconnecting mechanism are balanced and limited, and by which the crankshaft has a balancing part therein, for balancing at least your elbow part of a single elbow.
