Abstract
Speed-reducing gearing comprises two meshing bevel gears 3, 5 having slightly different numbers of teeth. The gear 5 is mounted on an output shaft 6. The gear 3 is prevented from rotating relative to the housing 7 by a gimbal arrangement comprising a gimbal ring 4 pivoted to the gear 3 and housing 7 by orthogonal pins P1, P2. The input shaft 1 terminates in a block 2 having an oblique surface bearing against the back of the gear 3 to cause the axis of the gear to gyrate at a constant angle to the axis of the output shaft 6. <IMAGE>
