Abstract

In a method and apparatus for training a gunner of an armoured vehicle a recording of an actual target situation is produced by means of a reproducing means 1. The reproducing means also produces a varying information signal related to the camera movement in tracking the target. The recorded scene is displayed in a gunner's main sight 5 and the information signal is simultaneously fed to a computer 4 which provides control signals, acting through a fine central computer 6, to deflect the line of sight in the gunner's main sight in response thereto. Signals from a gunners handle unit 7 which relate to the aiming direction set by a gunner under training, are also fed to the computer 4 to modify the control signals to enable the gunner to bring the sighting line back onto target. <IMAGE>
