Abstract

1473546 Valve ITT INDUSTRIES Inc 10 Dec 1974 [19 Dec 1973] 53370/74 Heading F2V A combined stop valve and non-return valve has a housing 1 with inlet and outlet orifices 2, 3 and a hollow plug 4 rotatably housed therein and having at least two openings one of which is alignable with the inlet and a second with the outlet orifices the plug containing an obturator 5 for one opening adapted to allow only unidirectional flow therethrough, the plug being turnable to a position which prevents flow from inlet to outlet but in which a removable cover 7 gives access via an opening in the housing and one of the plug openings to the interior of the plug. The plug may be conical and have seals 8. The obturator may be a flap or a ball (10) which may float, Fig. 4 (not shown), in which case the axis of the outlet orifice extends perpendicular to that of the common axis of the inlet and the plug.
