Description

A yarn unwinding device for a yarn creel TECHNICAL FIELD The present invention relates to a yarn unwinding device, a rack, e.g. a yarn creel, forexample, an unrolling yarn creel, method for producing a yarn unwinding device, method for producing a rack, e.g. a yarn creel, for example, an unrolling yarn creel, and a method for arranging a yarn unwinding device into an existing rack, e.g. an existing yarn creel, for example, an existing unrolling yarn creel.
BACKGROUND ART ln industry, industrial yarns are arranged to be drawn, and unwinded, from yarnspools, with wound yarn, on a yarn creel systems by a pulling means with tensioncontroll. A problem, in industrial processes comprising unwinding of a yarn threadfrom wound yarn on a yarn spool, can be that the yarn thread moves, during itsunwinding, in a direction towards the inside of the diameter of the wound yarn, e.g.the yarn thread moves off, for example, moves off and/or falls off, the wound yarn ofthe yarn spool, i.e. from moving inside the diameter of the wound yarn. That the yarnthread moves, during its unwinding, in a direction towards the inside of the diameterof the wound yarn, can happen when the yarn spool is badly wounded or when theunwinding, or unrolling, is jumpy or parallel to the the yarn directon. The unwinding,or unrolling, may be jumpy or parallel to the the yarn directon, for example, whenneither any unwinding guide, nor unrolling guide, is used.
Thus, there is a need for new solutions to meet the demands of said industrial processes comprising unwinding of a yarn thread from wound yarn on a yarn spool.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a yarn unwinding device comprising a yarn spool, being provided with wound yarn, and a supporting arm, wherein the yarn spool has alength and a diameter, and wherein the supporting arm comprises attachment meansand the supporting arm is arranged in the vicinity of an exit region, wherein said exitregion is located in an area where a yarn thread, when being unwinded from thewound yarn, exits the wound yarn, and wherein the supporting arm stops anymovement of said yarn thread inside the diameter of the wound yarn.
The yarn unwinding device according to the present invention, comprises a yarnspool being provided with wound yarn. The yarn may, for example, be any suitable industrial yarn.
The yarn spool being provided with wound yarn may have any suitable form, for example, a cylindrical form or a conical form.
The yarn unwinding device according to the present invention, comprises a supporting arm, which may have any suitable form, for example, an elongated form.
Further, the supporting arm may be of any suitable composition, comprising e.g. anysuitable metallic material, plastic material, ceramic material, or wooden material. lnsome embodiments, the supporting arm may comprise, for example, a suitable low friction material.
Furthermore, the supporting arm comprises attachment means, wherein theattachment means comprises attachment functions for attaching the supporting arm,as well as, arranging functions for arranging the supporting arm in the vicinity of saidexit region. Said attachment functions, and said arranging functions, can all be of any suitable kind, or type, known to person skilled in the art. ln some embodiments, the supporting arm can, for example, comprise, or be, a fixedsupporting arm mounted to the rack, e.g. the yarn creel, for example, a pin sticking out from the wall of the rack, e.g. of the yarn creel. ln still further embodiments of the present invention, the supporting arm can, for example, be mounted below the yarn spool. ln further embodiments of the present invention, the movement of the supporting armcan be via a positioning member, e.g. via a positioning roller, and via the radialmovement. ln even further embodiments of the present invention, the movement of thesupporting arm can be in another way than via a positioning roller, and via the radial movement.
The yarn unwinding device according to the present invention has surprisingly beenshown to be able to help with problems in processes comprising unwinding of a yarn thread from wound yarn on a yarn spool.
The problems, in industrial processes comprising unwinding of a yarn thread fromwound yarn on a yarn spool, being that the yarn thread moves, during its unwinding,in a direction towards the inside of the diameter of the wound yarn, e.g. the yarnthread moves off, for example, moves off and/or falls off, the wound yarn of the yarnspool, i.e. from moving inside the diameter of the wound yarn, may as alreadydescribed happen when the yarn spool is badly wounded or when the unwinding, orunrolling, is jumpy or parallel to the the yarn directon. Thus, it has been shown that, with an unwinding device, in accordance with the present invention, wherein theunwinding device comprises a supporting arm, we have been able to stop themovements of the yarn thread in a direction towards the inside of the diameter of the wound yarn.
Consequently, with an unwinding device, as described herein, in accordance with thepresent invention, we have surprisingly been able to succesfully keep the yarnthread, during its unwinding, on the outside of the yarn spool, i.e. on the diameter, or on the outside of the diameter, of the wound yarn.
Accordingly, the supporting arm of the yarn unwinding device, as described herein, inaccordance with the present invention, has shown to be able to prevent the yarnthread, during said unwinding of the yarn thread, from moving in a direction towardsthe inside of the diameter of the wound yarn, and/or outside the length of the wound yarn, on the yarn spool.
Further, that the supporting arm stops any movement of said yarn thread inside thediameter of the wound yarn, includes, for exampe, that the supporting arm stops saidyarn thread from moving in a direction substantially towards the pivoting axel of the yarn spool. ln further embodiments of the yarn unwinding device according to the presentinvention, as described herein, the supporting arm is arranged in the vicinity of saidexit region, and wherein said exit region is located in the lower half, e.g. the lowerend, of the wound yarn on the yarn spool. ln embodiments of the yarn unwindingdevice according to the present invention, the exit region is located in the lower half, e.g. the lower end, of the circumference of the wound yarn on the yarn spool. ln even further embodiments of the yarn unwinding device according to the presentinvention, as described herein, the supporting arm is arranged in the vicinity of saidexit region, and wherein said exit region is located in the upper half, e.g. the upperend, of the wound yarn on the yarn spool. ln embodiments of the yarn unwindingdevice according to the present invention, the exit region is located in the upper half, e.g. the upper end, of the circumference of the wound yarn on the yarn spool. ln further embodiments of the yarn unwinding device according to the presentinvention, as described herein, the yarn unwinding device further comprises a positioning means for positioning the supporting arm in the vicinity of said exit region.
The supporting arm is close to the unrolled yarn, i.e. the supporting arm is positionedin the vicinity of said exit region, has been shown to prevent movements of the yarnthread in a direction towards the inside of the diameter of the wound yarn also if theyarn thread moves over the edge of the yarn spool. Further, that the supporting armis close to the unrolled yarn, i.e. the supporting arm is positioned in the vicinity of saidexit region, has also been shown to prevent movements of the yarn thread in adirection towards the inside of the diameter of the wound yarn if the wound yarn onthe yarn spool has cross ends, meaning that the yarn thread is taking a shortcut onthe side of the wound yarn on the yarn spool, i.e. inside the diameter of the wound yarn, instead of being winded on the circumference. ln even further embodiments of a yarn unwinding device according to the presentinvention, as described herein, the positioning means comprises a positioningmember in rotationally contact with the wound yarn in an extension along the lengthof the wound yarn, and wherein the supporting arm is attached to the positioning means and extends away from the positioning member.
The purpose of the positioning member, e.g. a positioning roller, is to keep thesupporting arm as close to the yarn as possible during unwinding of the yarn threadfrom the wound yarn. ln further embodiments of the present invention, the positioningmember, e.g. the positioning roller, and also the supporting arm, may also beconstrued to fall away from the yarn spool when the yarn spool becomes empty. Theyarn unwinding device may, for example, be construed so that the supporting arm isnot touching the wound yarn when supporting the yarn during its unwinding and/or fall away from the yarn spool when the supporting arm falls away from the yarn spool. ln still further embodiments of a yarn unwinding device according to the presentinvention, as described herein, the supporting arm is attached to the positioningmeans and is substantially parallel to, and extends away from, the positioning member.
The attachment means may further comprise any rotationally means, pivotallymeans, and/or similar means, wherein said rotationally means, said pivotally means, and said similar means, enable the arrangement of the supporting arm. ln further embodiments of a yarn unwinding device according to the presentinvention, as described herein, the yarn unwinding device further comprises a pullingmeans, e.g. a pulling machine and/or a pulling force working on the yarn thread, (forexample, a pulling machine or a pulling force working on the yarn thread) for enabling the unwinding of the yarn thread from the wound yarn.
The yarn unwinding device according to the present invention, as described herein, may be used in a rack, for example, a yarn creel, where the yarn thread is unwindedby a pulling means, e.g. by another machine, for example, an external machine. Thespindles of the rack, for example, of the yarn creel, has each of them a brake to givea certain yarn tension of the unwinded yarn, i.e. the yarn thread. The speed of the unwinding is decided by the pulling means, e.g. the another machine, for example, the external machine. ln still further embodiments of a yarn unwinding device according to the present invention, as described herein, the yarn is an industrial yarn.
The yarn unwinding device according to the present invention, as described herein,is, for example, intended to be used in yarn creels with many rack spindles, e.g. yarncreel spindles, working at the same time.
