Abstract
An arrangement for a vehicle for measuring the exact speed and the distance a vehicle has travelled. Modern speed and distance-measuring devices for vehicles show inaccurate values by virtue of the fact that the wheel rotation is taken into consideration but the wheel radius is not taken into consideration. The wheel radius changes as a result of many factors. The problem has been solved by continuously measuring the radius of a wheel. Speed measurement is carried out on the wheel of which the radius is being measured. The values for the wheel radius and the wheel speed are processed in an electronic arrangement on board the vehicle and the result is displayed for the driver in the form of speed and distance covered. <IMAGE>
