Abstract
Each bonnet hinge (5) includes a stop device for restricting upwards movement of a first articulation point relative to a fastener secured to the bodywork, comprising a stop on a first link arm and a stop on a second link arm, both stops cooperating with the fastener. The bonnet (2) is pivotally secured to the bodywork via two hinges at its rear end and has a lock (3) at its front end for securing it in the closed position. In the event of a pre-determined collision situation the bonnet is designed to swing upwards at its rear end by pivoting about the lock. Each hinge can adopt a normal position to allow the bonnet to be lifted and lowered normally in order to open or close it, and a collision position to allow the bonnet to swing upwards at its rear end. In the collision position the hinge forms a distance-restricting connection between the bonnet and bodywork. The hinge includes a first fastener for securing it to the bonnet and this fastener is secured via a first articulation point to a first link arm, which in turn is secured via a second articulation point to a second link arm, and this is secured via a third articulation point to a second fastener secured to the bodywork.
