Abstract

FIELD: medicine; physiotherapy; laser therapy. SUBSTANCE: it is known fact that implanted mammary gland prosthesis (mammoprosthesis) provokes natural biological reaction in surrounding tissues and causes formation of connective tissue which in some cases produces hypertrophic growth, squeezes on prosthesis and deforms mammary gland. Hitherto used methods (medicamentous, surgical, mechanical and their combinations) mostly fail to solve this problem. Proposed method offers effective solution to this problem and resides in subjecting soft tissues surrounding mammoprosthesis to percutaneous laser irradiation in pulsed mode, over range 10-20 ns, at repetition frequency 25 Hz, simultaneously at wavelengths 1.064 and 0.532 mcm. Average light energy intensity per 5-10-minute long session does not exceed 10 J, number of sessions being 10. Sessions are spaced by time interval 1-2 days. EFFECT: solution is proposed for hitherto unsolved problem.

Claims (1)

A method for the treatment and prevention of capsular contracture is proposed. The invention relates to medicine and relates to physiotherapeutic treatment and prevention based on laser light irradiation. An implanted mammoprosthesis induces a natural biological response in tissues. Around the prosthesis, connective tissue forms, which in some cases excessively grows, squeezes the prosthesis and deforms the mammary gland. Currently, a number of treatment and prophylaxis methods are used: medical, surgical and mechanical effects, as well as a combined combination of these methods. In most cases, these methods do not provide effective treatment. The proposed new method can essentially solve the problem of treating capsular contracture and consists in the following. The transdermally soft tissues surrounding the mammoprosthesis are irradiated with a laser with a pulsed mode in the range of 10-20 ns with a repetition rate of 25 Hz simultaneously at wavelengths of 1.064 and 0.532 μm. The average power of light energy is not more than 10 J per session 5-10 minutes The number of sessions is 10 with an interval of 1-2 days.
